LESSON 6: LANGUAGE FOCUS

Aims: To recall the students the simple past tense and give them the correct correction.

Objectives: By the end of the lesson the students will be able to remember the simple past tense

better and get the correct answers of the exercises

1 Review the simple past tense :

a Model sentences:

Ex: She was at home last night.

They played volleybal yesterday afternoon

He went to school last Sunday

b Form:

S + was/ were …

S + V2/ ed …

c Use:

To express an action that happened and finished in the past

2 The simple past form with “used to”:

a Model sentences:

Ex: I used to play soccer last year.

She used to be shy when she was young

They didn’t use to eat hamburger before

b Form:

S + used to + V1 …

S + didn’t + use to + V1…

c Use:

To express a past habit

3 Preposition of time:

- in: year, month, season, part of day

- on: day/ date, single day Day + part of day

- Shows the students the main contents

- Gives model sentences

- Explains

- Gives form and use

- Listen take notes
