2 Warm up (5’)
Activity: Word chain game”
- T put phonics cards ‘Bb, ball, bed, bee’ on the board
- Point to the student He/She says the first word in the sequence, e.g., Bb
- T point to another student He/She repeats the previous word, then says the next word in the sequence, e.g., Bb à ball
- Continue with each student saying the next word in the sequence
- Give feedback
3 New lesson ( 30’ )
Activity 6 Circle the pictures of the words that start
with the b sound (10’)
- T use the phonics cards to elicit the pictures starting
the b sound.
- T ask students to circle these pictures
- T go around for helping
Activity: Thumbs Up or Down (5’)
- T number the pictures from 1 to 6
- T ask Ss to put their thumbs up if the picture starts
6 Circle the pictures of the words that start with the b sound

Activity 7 Listen, point and repeat Colour the

- T show the students the omelette phonics card Point
to it and say: bear Ask them to repeat
- Mime cracking and beating eggs and say: bear
Encourage the students to do the same
- T point to the pictures, the students do corresponding
actions and say the words
- T divide the class into groups of two
- The first student point to the pictures and the other
student say the word then change the roles
- T ask the students to colour in the pictures of the
words that start with the sound
Activity: Whispers (5’)
-T devides Ss into two teams of six
- T show the phonics cards to the first student only in
each group
- This student whispers the word to the next student
behind
- T lets Ss to continue whispering the word until the
final student shouts out the word
7 Listen, point and repeat Colour the pictures of the words that start with the b sound Say the b words.

Activity 1 Trace and say (Activity Book) (5’)
- let’s Ss revision of letter B, its sound
- T write on the board the big B and small b
- Point to the letter B and say out loud “This is the
letter B
- Point to the letter b and say out loud “This is the
letter b
- Have the class repeat its sound chorally, then
individually
- Have the students say the sound individually,
correct the pronunciation if necessary
Activity: How to write letter B (5’)
- Demonstrate how to write the big B by stroke
- Draw an example of letter B using dashed lines
- Use a different colored chalk to model tracing the
letter B
- Have some students practice tracing letter B on
the board
- Have students trace letter O in the books
- Students say after each finished letter
- Go around to give help if necessary
Activity 2: Trace and match (5’)
- T let’s Ss revision of words starting with letter Oo
by the game: Thumbs Up or Down
- T asks the students to close their books

Activity 3 Colour the right pictures(10’)
- T show up the 6phonics cards one by one For
example, show the card withball, but incorrectly
say bed or bee, Ss should stand; if the words are
correctly said, they should jump up
- T do the same procedure for the other 5 cards
- T ask Ss name pictures
- T asks Ss to colour the pictures that correspond to
each letter
- T go around and give help as needed
Activity 4: What is it? Colour the Bb letters and
say (5’)
- T ask Ss to find the shapes that have the letters Bb
and colour them
- T ask Ss to say what appears in the picture
- T go around providing any necessary help
