UNIT 6: Ff - PART 4, 6, 7

I Objective:

1 Language focus:

- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to recognize and say the three Ff words correctly, do the actions, practise the sound of the letter Ff and the coresponding words Sight words: my, funny, and, are, with

Vocabulary: fork

2 Skill:

- Listening, speaking, reading, writing

3 Attitude:

- Encourage Ss to use the structure more regulary

II Teaching aids:

- Book, CD, phonics cards, computer, projector, software

III Method:

- Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work, group work

IV.Procedures:

1 Organization:

2 Warm up (5’)

- T ask Ss to sing the chant in lesson 1, keep the rhythm by clapping their hands and doing hand actions

3 New lesson.

Activity 4 Listen Read along(7’)

- T encourage Ss to point to the picture of the word

that the teacher says

- T play the CD and ask Ss to listen to the story

once

- Play the CD again Ss listen, point to the pictures

of the key words when they hear them in the story

- T read the story Ss follow their books

- T reads the printed words then let Ss look at the

pictures and say the words

- T asks Ss work in pairs One reads while the other

checks, then they change roles Or one reads the

printed words while the other looks at the pictures

and says the words

Activity: Say the Sight Words (4’)

- T point to and say the sight words: my, funny, and,

are, with and ask Ss to repeat.

- T call on Ss read aloud and correct pronunciation

Activity 6 Circle the right letters (5’)

- T point to the letters, name the items and revise the

sounds

- T ask Ss to look at the pictures and circle the right

letters

Activity: Sound and Word (5’)

- Divide students into 2 teams, A and B

- Put one of the phonics cards on the board

- T ask Ss from Team A to identify the sound (1

point), the picture (1 point), or both (2 points)

- Continue with a student from Team B

Activity 7 Listen, point and repeat Colour the

pictures of the words that start with the f sound

Say the f words (7’)

- Show the students the fork phonics card Point to it

and say: /f–fork Ask them to repeat.

- Do action like fork and say /f/, fork.

- Encourage the students to do the same

- T say the letter and ask students do the action

- Play the CD

- T ask Ss to listen, point to and repeat the word

- Point to pictures and have students name them

- Ask Ss to colour the pictures which have Ff in

them

- Give Ss 4 minutes to colour in the ‘frog’ and ‘fish’

that have Ffin them

Activity: Craftwork (5’)

- T ask Ss to take out their notebooks

- Ask them to choose one word the draw the letter

and the picture in their notebooks

- Tell them to colour the letter and the picture

Play game

6 Circle the right letters
