UNIT 9 : A first - aid course

A.Objectives:

1/The aims: In this unit, students will learn “ in order to/ so as to” to

denote purpose

2/ Skill: Practice speaking.

- Revise the present simple tense to denote the future actions and modal “ will” is used to make request offers and promises

- Write a thank- you note

By the end of the Unit Ss will be able to know how to:

I Objectives: In this lesson, Ss will read the dialogue, understand which require

first- aids, practice speaking the dialogue

1/The aims: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to know what they

would do in the situations which require first-aid

- Vocabulary: burn on one’s arm, a nose bleed, a bee sting,alcohol, first- aids, emergency,ambulance,conscious,presure,wound

- Language: S + will + V

2/ Skill: Listening, reading and speaking.

3/Attitude: educate ss know how to give first aid and are ready to help other people

* Getting started: Matching and speaking

T runs through 4 situations

- burn on one’s arm: bị bỏng ( cánh tay)

- a nose bleed: chảy máu cam

- a bee sting: bị ong đốt

- alcohol(n): cồn

T asks ss to match the situations with the things which can use for first- aids then make the sentences

T models: 1 a girl has a burn on her arm- ice/ cold water

- wash the burn with cold water

- ease the burn with ice or cold water

- cover it with a sterile bandage

* Answer:

2 a boy has a bad cut on his leg

- wash the cut with alcohol

- cover it with a bandage and take him to the hospital

3 a girl has a nose bleed

- let her stand atraight

- revise her head behind

- use some absorbent cooton to coser her bleeding nose for some minutes

4 a boy haas a bee sting

- rub some ointment on it
