1/ Công thức :

+ Đối với TOBE: Có 3 hình thức gồm: AM/IS/ARE

Quy định: I đi với am, he/she/it……is,

Is he a doctor?( Yes, he is / No, he isn’t)

+ Đối với động từ thường:

- Trong câu phủ định và nghi vấn , ta phải mượn 2 trợ động từ DO/DOES Lưu ý

động từ chia sau do/ does phải đưa về dạng nguyên mẫu ( không còn S,ES cho dù

chủ ngữ là He/She/It)

- Quy định: DO đi với I/ You/We/ They

DOES ……….He/She /It

- Viết tắt: do not…… don’t/ does not… doesn’t

EX: They work hard everyday.

2/ Cách dùng:

- Diễn tả 1 hành động thường xuyên xảy ra

- Diễn tả 1 thói quen

- Diễn tả 1 sự thật, 1 chân lý hiển nhiên

EX: The Earth turns around the Sun.

3/ Dấu hiệu nhận biết:Trong câu thường có :

- Always/ constantly, often/ frequently, usually, sometimes,occasionally, seldom, rarely, never…

- Every day( night, week, month, year, summer….)

- On+ các thứ trong tuần(On Mondays, On Saturdays….)

- Once a week/ month/ year…, twice a week/ month/ year…

4/ Cách thêm ES (đối với He/she/it)

- Thêm ES vào sau các động từ tận cùng là: O, SS, CH, X, SH,

EX: go…….goes, watch……watches, pass……passes, wash…….washes

THÌ HIỆN TẠI TIẾP DIỄN( THE PRESENT PROGRESSIVE TENSE)

- Diễn tả 1 hành động đang xảy ra và kéo dài 1 thời gian ở hiện tại

EX: The children are playing football now.

- Dùng sau các câu đề nghị, mệnh lệnh

EX: Look! The child is crying

Be quiet! The baby is sleeping in the next room.

- Dùng để diễn tả 1 hành động có dự định sắp xảy ra ở tương lai gần Có trạng từ chỉ thời gian đi kèm như: tomorrow, next week/ month/ year…

EX: He is coming tomorrow.

My parents are planting trees tomorrow.

- Diễn tả 1 thói quen lặp đi lặp lại ( diễn tả sự phàn nàn ).Thường dùng với always, frequently, continually…

EX: He is always asking questions

She is always talking in class

They’re always making noise

• Lưu ý: Không dùng thì Hiện tại tiếp diễn với các động từ chỉ nhận thức, tri giác như;

Tobe, see, hear, understand, know, like, want, glance, feel, think, smell, love, hate, realize, seem, remember, forget….

Với các động từ này, ta thay bằng thì HIỆN TẠI ĐƠN

4/ Cách thêm ING: Nếu động từ tận cùng là:

- e thì bỏ e rồi thêm ING: come……coming, live……living

- Y thì vẫn giữ nguyên thêm ING: play…… playing, study……studying

- ie thì đổi thành Y rồi thêm ING: lie……lying, die…… dying

- tận cùng là 1 phụ âm, trước nó là 1 nguyên âm, thì gấp đôi phụ âm cuối rồithêm ING:

stop…….stopping, run… running, swim……swimming

- Nhưng nếu động từ tận cùng là 1 phụ âm, trước nó là 2 nguyên âm, thì giữnguyên rồi thêm ING: meet….meeting, sleep……sleeping, eat…….eating

- Nếu động từ có 2 vần mà trọng âm rơi vào vần thứ hai , tận cùng là 1 phụ

âm thì gấp đôi phụ âm cuối rồi thêm ING: begin… beginning ,

Lưu ý: (Dùng cho cả so sánh hơn và so sánh nhất)

1 Khi tính từ có 2 âm tiết mà tận cùng là: Y, OW, ET, ER thì được xem là tính

từ ngắn Ex: happy → happier → the happiest

Narrow → narrower → the narrowestQuiet → quieter → the quietest

Clever → cleverer → cleverestGentle → gentler → the gentlest

2 Nếu tính từ tận cùng là “Y”, trước nó là 1 phụ âm thì đổi “Y”→ I rồi thêm

ER/EST Ex: lovely → lovelier → the loveliest

4 Nếu tính từ ngắn tận cùng là 1 phụ âm, trước nó là 1 nguyên âm thì ta gấp

đôi phụ âm cuối rồi thêm ER/EST (ngoại trừ tính từ tận cùng là: W).

Ex: thin → thinner → the thinnest

Fat → fatter → the fattest

Nhưng : Slow → slower → the slowest (chậm)

5 Các tính từ tận cùng là: -ed, -ful, -ing, -ish, -ous… là những tính từ dài

Ex: more bored, more useful, more boring, more selfish, more
