INTRODUCTION THE TOPIC “A NEW ATTRACTION”

Today our group presentation is about the topic “A New Attraction”

Our group have 6 members:

Phạm Chí Bảo (Mr Dilip Singh - the organizer)

Our group set up a situation: Dilip Singh – a very rich man He gives money generously

to charities all over the world and provides finance for projects which will help local communities.He has recently organised an international competition for people wanting

to create a new attraction in their country The winner will receive $20 million to finance and develop their project

So we choose Vietnam to organise the contest “FINDING NEW PROJECT” After 3 preliminaries round, we selected 3 projects in final round today

This situation have 6 scenes:

Scene 1: A conversation between Mr Dilip and Ms Jane.

Scene 2: A phone call between Ms.Jane and Ms.Tuyen

Scene 3: The contest takes place in Meeting room at Muong Thanh Luxury Cantho Scene 4: The disscusion of judges

Scene 5: Announcement results of the contest.

Scene 6: After 4 years, compare revenue after project completion with 2018

Scene 1: A conversation between Mr Dilip and Ms Jane:

- Dilip Singh: Hello Jane, I have an important thing to tell you

- Jane: Yes

- Dilip Singh: As you know, we have organized many charitable activities around the

world And in the near future, I'm going to organize a contest to find a breakthrough idea

to support the local community, and my chosen country will be Vietnam I had the opportunity to travel here a few times I think Vietnam will become a very potential country to develop in tourism Firstly, the Northern Vietnam is mountainous and the climate is characterized by four distinct seasons, it is suitable to develop trekking tourism Secondly, the Central Viet Nam has many historical sites such as ancient capital, old quarter, So heritage tourism is the most type of tourism Finally, the Southern Viet Nam has a lot of vast paddy fields, the river system is so interlaced, especially there is the mekong river flowing through and becoming the 9 branches, I had a chance to get to the two floating markets in Can Tho, It was so exciting, we can invest to ecotourism and river tourism In the other hand, Vietnam has a very long coastline from north to south, that means Sea tourism is also very developed Therefore, I think that’s enough for Viet Nam to become a country that has strength in tourism What do you think Jane?

- Jane: That sounds good, and I can help There is a competition in Vietnam talking

about creative ideas for tourism development, I will introduce you there

- Dilip Singh: Oh, It’s just so good

-Jane: But, Are there any standards from you? (you have any standards?)

- Dilip Singh: Yes, there are three things that are very important They will help me to

make up my mind The winner will have to come up a great idea for an attraction It’ll have to be something different, a bit unusual, but linked in some way to the culture of the community or country It could be any types of tourism I want people to use their imagination, that’s the idea of the competition

- Jane: Yes sir, I’ll give them a contact and tell you everything as soon as possible.

- Dilip Singh: Ok, good.

Scene 2: A phone call between Ms.Jane and Ms Tuyen

- Jane: Hello Tuyen, How are you doing?

- Tuyen: Thank you, Jane I'm very good, and you?

- Jane: I know you have organized many contests related to finding new ideas that bring

benefits for the community My boss is intending to invest in supporting ideas that are breakthrough and creative to bring benefits to the community in Vietnam Will you be able to help me?

- Tuyen: No problem, I will conduct a contest to find the projects that meet your

requirement

- Jane: If selected, the project will receive $ 20 million I will send you mail about the

details of the contest for you, thank you

- Tuyen: Ok bye Jane See you later.

preliminary round, today there are three excellent candidates whose project broke into the final

-MC: In order not to take too long time, the final round of competition is allowed to

- Jane Ferguson: Hello, introduce yourself before presenting your ideas.

- Quynh: Yes, hello everyone! My name is Quynh, I’m 38 years old and I’m

the director of Lao Cai Travel and Tourism I have been in this position for 5 years.

- Jane Ferguson: OK! Tell us what you think!

- Quynh: Where I want to implement my idea is Sapa Sapa is a very attractive

tourist destination, bearing the beauty of Europe because this is the only place

in Vietnam with snow, also has 3.134 meter high Fanxipan peak is the roof of Indochina Sapa owns a series of scenic spots such as: O Quy Ho Peak, Love waterfall, ancient rock, Muong Hoa valley, Coc San cave and many typical dishes of North West Moreover, Sapa is also the top three places that must be visited by foreigners when coming to Vietnam.

This is a chart about the number of visitors to Sapa over the years By 2015, there were 710 thousand visitors, 2016 has increased to 970 thousand, in 2017 this number has increased to 1.2 million visitors This shows that Sapa is a very attractive tourist destination and increasingly attracts tourists.

However, there is a shortage of accommodation for tourists The chart shows the shortage of accommodation in Sapa In 2017, 2182 guests / room for hotel from 3 stars and up and 4000 guests / room for 4-5 star hotel Therefore, in the peak season, Sapa faces severe room burns.

There are only a few quality hotels like Violet, Victoria, Royal the rest are homestay, poor quality homestay So, I want to build a resort with a large scale,

- Dilip Singh: Thank you for your presentation Will the project be good when

we need a long time to complete it? At that time whether tourism in Sapa is still growing?

- Quynh: I believe tourism in Sapa will grow at a high speed.

- Dilip Singh: What are you based on?

- Quynh: There are three reasons for me to believe in tourism in Sapa that will

develop hnw in the near future.

Firstly, the infrastructure for tourism in Sapa is improving Noi Bai-Lao Cai Expressway has been completed, by 2020, Lao Cai airport will be put into operation will shorten the time to Sapa When the Fanxipan Legend cable car system opens up to Fanxipan peak, it only takes 15 minutes.

Secondly, Sapa has many beautiful and attractive landscapes, typical of the region as I have just described.

And finally, it is the friendliness, hospitality of the people here They are

willing to help visitors in difficult times as well as enthusiastically introduce the custom and unique features in their activities to visitors.

- Tuyen: It's good! How much money do you need to carry out your project? -Quynh: I need $ 18 million to carry out my project Hope to get the support

Hello Mr Dilip Singh and everyone, my name is Tu, the deputy head of Khanh Hoa tourism investment and also the representative of Truong Sa group of islands

I appreciate Mr Singh and your assistant spending your valuable time listening to

my opinion about where you can invest I guarantee that you will find this is such

a potential investment

The group of islands Truong Sa which belongs to Khanh Hoa Province, Vietnam are where I expect your investment As we can see Khanh Hoa is also a beautiful landscape and that is why you should put money to this investment

My presentation includes three parts:

Part 1: Group of islands Truong Sa introduction.

Part 2: Why need to invest to Truong Sa ?

Part 3: How to invest to Truong Sa ?

Now,we can start going to the first part- introduce about to Truong Sa

The group of islands Truong Sa lies to the east and southeast coast of Vietnam, is based on the entire South China Sea Spratly Islands They are a collection of over a hundred small islands, reefs formed from coral shoals, undergrowth and cover an area of about 198000 km² It is divided into 8 groups: Song Tử, Loai Ta, Thi Tứ, Nam Yết, Sinh Tồn, Trường Sa, Thám Hiểm and Bình Nguyên

Next, why do we would like to invest to Truong Sa

- Fistly, as we all know, to go to Truong Sa Island must be by boat, so it takes time and cost is very high So I want to call for investment to build a civilian airline route to the island to save costs and promote tourism

- Secondly, this island lack of facilities so we should invest in building more restaurants, high quality hotels to meet the needs of visitors

- Finally, I think we should invest in building more schools, hospitals, water filter system and policies to support people living in the island The result is both improve the life for the people and raise the national sovereignty I believe that Truong Sa islands not only will be the popular travel destination with new attractive points but also be a smart choice if you decided to invest to Truong Sa potential development

Your presentation is very good As far as I know, Truong Sa is only attracting visitors for about 2 years back to pristine beauty and beautiful beaches, so

Ms Jane: Which do you think is the largest attractive point in your investment

project?

Tu: I think the largest point in my project is buid airline route, because it contributes

to reducing the cost and time for tourists so that more and more tourists have the opportunity to explore Truong Sa Island and love it

Ms Jane: Ok That ‘s a great idea So, can you tell me what your project is like?

Tu: I suppose we need to invest to:

- Transportation on inhabitant land: $2 million

- Building airport: $8 million

- Building the chain of hotels, restaurants and homestays and schools: $3 million

- Building the water filter system: $3 million

- Building the natural preservation area under the sea: $2 million

Total of the investment is about $18 million and $2 million will be spent for

back-up plans

Hello eveyone!

My name’s Huynh Nhu I’m a CEO of Can Tho tourism company

I will introduce the famous tourist destination in Can Tho today That is Cai Rang floating market On the Can Tho River, near Cai Rang Bridge, about 6 km from the center of Can Tho city and 30 minutes by boat from Ninh Kieu Quay

Cai Rang floating market has many special attractions such as food service as well as fruit orchard We can add services such as singing and dancing to satisfy the singing needs of tourists Fruit orchards are available throughout the year when visitors go to any occasion to have fruit to enjoy We will build the fruit processing plant at the request of guests or visitors to process

Beside, we will upgrade the boats more modern to ensure the safety of tourists but it

is still the western country with the water of rural homeland

It is possible to combine with traditional houses specializing in traditional craft

villages for visitors to experience For example, we can use a hat to sit with people or guide them to make handmade Their finished products are the rewards for them These are the plans that I set out to develop the poetic tourism in general and the floating market in particular Thank you everyone for listening

some reasons I have to invest in Cai Rang floating market?

Huynh Nhu : Thanks for your question There are many reasons to invest in Cai

Rang floating market, but I offer two most important reasons

Firstly, The floating market is a popular tourist destination in Can Tho When visitors

go to Can Tho , they will come here at least once Other places they may not come, but the floating market must stop once If we invest in upgrading it in the future, visitors will not only come once again, but also two times three times and then many times

The second reason I want to say : This is the chart showing the revenue of Cai Rang floating market over the years

In 2014, Cai Rang floating market's revenue is about 1 trillion VND

In 2017 , Cai Rang floating market's revenue is about 2 trillion increased double compared with 2014

Within three years, the sales of Cai Rang floating market rose very high so this is a tourist attraction If it is invested , I surely the revenue increase in the future

Now we are going to spend around one hour for discussing and chosing the idea of the copetition During that time, we invite everyone to go outside the lobby to have a light buffet that we prepared in advance

Jane: Sir, the three projects sound very creative and attractive, but in my opition,

Quynh's project is very good, She can help to improve the quality of tourism in a place where the potential for tourism development is very great

MC: I think Nhu's project will be better, She gave us the innovation about the floating

market tourism in Can Tho, and they were quite good

Dilip: Thanks for the comments of everyone Overall, the presentations of all three

contestants were pretty good and they could approach the standards I gave However, I

am so impressed to the project of Ms.Tu Her idea is quite good to me She does not just want to develop tourism activities in the island, but she’s also concerned about the future

of the people on the island, as same as the future of her country, and that is one thing that

I like very much Moreover, she made clear her views and the reasons that we should choose to invest So I think our investment in this idea is gonna be very clear and reasonable Everything is very convincing
