III Lưu ý về phát âm

1 Học các âm tiếng Anh và bảng mẫu tự ngữ âm quốc tế IPA (International Phonetics Alphabet)

2 Kiểm tra cách phát âm của các từ trong tiếng Anh trong từ điển

Hạn chế đoán mò cách phát âm của từ mới, hãy cố gắng tra và phát âm chuẩn xác

3 Nghe và phát âm theo:

Hãy tiếp xúc thường xuyên với nhạc, sách, phim, chương trình ti vi, … bằng tiếng Anh

Khi nghe, chú ý những từ mà các em nghe được và lặp lại chúng ngay nếu có thể Cách này sẽ khiến cáchphát âm tiếng Anh đi vào tiềm thức một cách tự nhiên Các em sẽ có ngày ngạc nhiên khi thấy mình phát âmchuẩn các từ tiếng Anh mà không phải suy nghĩ gì

4 Luyện tập phát âm các từ / cụm từ tiếng anh một cách đều đặn

- Phương pháp có hệ thống: dành 15-20 phút mỗi ngày tra từ điển, luyện đọc từ hoặc luyện các bài tập phát

âm, luyện đọc to các bài luận

- Phương pháp tự do: chỉ cần lặp đi lặp lại vài từ / cụm từ trong khi các em đang làm gì đó khác (nghenhạc, xem TV, chơi game, …)

5 Quan trọng nhất là âm chữ không phải là mặt chữ (cách viết chính tả) hay cách đánh vần một từ

VD: fax kết thúc bằng “x” nhưng phát âm thành /fæks/

like kết thúc bằng “e” nhưng phát âm là /laik/

IV Phương pháp làm bài

1 Lướt và làm các câu hỏi về phát âm đuôi –ed hoặc –s/-es trước

2 Xác định các đáp án thuộc trường hợp đặc biệt (âm câm, từ thường bị phát âm sai, …) nếu có

3 Với các từ còn lại: Kết hợp quy tắc và đọc thầm theo trí nhớ để xác định âm của từ

I Trọng âm là gì

Đối với những từ có từ hai âm tiết trở lên, khi phát âm có 1 âm tiết được nhấn mạnh hơn và có cao độ

lớn hơn so với các âm tiết còn lại Đó chính là trọng âm của từ Khi ta đọc đến âm tiết này, lực phát

âm sẽ mạnh hơn khi phát âm các âm tiết khác

Một từ chỉ có một trọng âm chính

Những từ có 3 âm tiết trở lên thường có thêm một trọng âm phụ, được nhấn âm nhẹ hơn so với trọng

âm chính

Nhấn trọng âm ở nguyên âm, không nhấn ở phụ âm

Lưu ý: Trọng âm chỉ nhấn vào những âm tiết mạnh (những âm tiết có chứa nguyên âm mạnh, nguyên

âm dài hoặc nguyên âm đôi)

II Trọng âm của từ hai âm tiết

1 Danh từ và tính từ có

2 âm tiết, đa số trọng

âm thường rơi vào

âm rơi vào âm tiết đầu khi là tính từ (absent.decent)

Một số động từ tận cùng bằng “ER, ERN,
