1 Conditional sentences (Type 1):

Simple present Simple future

2 Unless:

- Trong mệnh đề điều kiện, ta có thể

thay liên từ “if” = “unless”

- Unless tương đương với “if not”

* Note : Trường hợp mẹnh đề if ở

thể khẳng định không được đổi sang

thể phủ định khi dùng unless mà

phải đổi mệnh đề chính theo thể

ngược lại

Rewrite the following sentences,

using unless instead of if:

a/ If you are not careful, you will cut

yourself with that knife

b/ If you do not like this one, I’ll

bring you another

c/ If she does not hurry, she will be

late

d/ I’ll not be able to do any work if I

don’t have a quiet room

- And ( và ) : Là từ nối được dùng để

nối các từ, cụm từ hay mạnh đề

- But (nhưng) : Dùng để nối hai ý

tương phản nhau

- Or (hay, hoặc) : Dùng để diển tả ý

lựa chọn

- So ( vì thế, do đó):diễn tả hậu quả

- Because ( bởi vì, do): Diễn tả

nguyên nhân, lý do

- Therefore (do đó, vì thế): Đồng

nghĩa với so, chỉ hậu quả

- However ( tuy nhiên): Đồng nghĩa

với “but” nhưng “however” luôn

luôn nối liền hai mệnh đề, diễn tả sự

tương phản

ngược với mệnh đề chính

* Note :

“ Although”, “though” “even

though” không dùng với “but”

- Though và although có cùng nghĩa

Even though có nghĩa mạnh hơn

though và although

- Mệnh đề trạng ngữ chỉ sự nhượng

bộ có thể đứng trước hoặc sau mệnh

đề chính; nếu mệnh đề chỉ nhượng

bộ đứng trước, phải có dấu phẩy

1/ Who : Được dùng để thay thế cho

danh từ chỉ người Nó luôn luôn

đứng trước một động từ và đứng sau

danh từ chỉ người Nhiệm vụ làm chủ

từ cho mệnh đề phụ

* Form :

N (person) + who (s) + verb.
