UNIT 2: MAKING ARRANGEMENTS.

LESSON 3: LISTEN+LANGUAE FOCUS 3.

Period : 10.

A.Objectives:

I Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to complete telephone

message by listening and further practice in adverbs of place

II Skills: speaking and listening.

III Teaching- aids: Lesson plan, textbook and CD.

B.Procedures:

I Class-organization: check-attendance.( 1ms )

II Checking-up: Structure: tobe going to

III.New lesson:

Time Teacher's activities Ss' activities

+Warm up: Telephone

transmitting.

-T explains the game.

-T divide Ss into 2 teams

-Choose 6 volunteers from each

team

-The volnteers stand in two lines

The teacher shows the first students

(in each line) a telephone number

-He / she whispers the telephone to

the next person…

-The last students shout out the

number, if it is the same as the

number teacher shows, that team

win the match

A Pre - listening:

-Asking Ss to look at the form of

the telephone message on page 21

and set the scene " a woman phoned

the principal of Kingston junior

high school but he was out"

-Give feedback

-Get Ss listen to the tape twice and

fill in the message, compare with

their guess

B While - listening:

I Listening to the tape:

Ss listen to rule of the game

Ss work in team

-Have Ss guess the message

-Let Ss work in pairs

- T lets Ss listen to the tape 3 times

And asks Ss to fill in

II Copying:

-T asks Ss to copy down the form of

the telephone message

-Asking Ss to give the form of the

telephone message

C Language focus 3:

-T presents adverbs of place

Outside, inside, there, here, upstairs,

downstairs

-T makes sure Ss know the meaning

of the adverbs

-Set the scene: " Ba is playing hide

and seek with is cousin Tuan

Using each adverb in the box once

-Ss listen to the tape and fill in the form

+ Answer:

IV Consolidation:

T asks Ss to remind adverbs of the place and the form of the telephone message

- Doing exercise 3, 4 in workbook and prepare part "Read"
