THE PRESENT PERFECT PASSIVE
I Aims: Through the lesson, students can know deeply at using:
- The present perfect tense
- The present perfect passive

- T reminds Ss of the forms and
usages of these grammar points
- Ss listen
I WARM – UP: 10’
- Review all the forms and usages of the present simple,
past simple, and past perfect
- T explains
A The present perfect
a Form:
- Affirmative: S + have/has + V3/ed
- Negative: S + have/has + not + V3/ed
- Interrogative: Have/Has + S + V3/ed?
b Usage :
- We use the Present Perfect Tense to talk about experiences It is important if we have done it in our lives or not It is not important when we did it
Ex: I have been abroad two times
- An action that happened in the past with no particular time
Ex: Have you had breakfast? – No, I haven’t.
- We use the Present Perfect Tense to talk about an action which started in the past and continuous up to
now, or a past action that has the result in the present Ex: My friend Nam has lived in HCMC since 1998.
We have learned English for 7 years.
- An action has just happend
Ex: I have just finished my homework.
* Note:

- Since with the time when the action started (2000,
September, I last saw you, …)
- For with a period of time (3 months, a long time, …)
- Some adverbs: just, recently/lately, ever, never, yet, already, since, for…
B The present perfect passive
- a Form:
- Affirmative: S + have/has + been + V3/ed
- Negative: S + have/has + not + been + V3/ed
- Interrogative: Have/Has + S + been + V3/ed?
Ex: - He has just done his homework.
His homework has just been done (by him).
- T asks Ss to turn these sentences into
passive voice
- Ss do the task given in pairs
- T calls some students answer and
corrects
III Practice: 10’
Turn these sentences into passive voice.
1 No one has opened that box for the past hundred years
That box hasn’t been opened for the past hundred years
2 The fire has destroyed many houses
Many houses have been destroyed by the fire
3 You can see that anybody has washed the dishes
You can see the dishes haven’t been washed
4 Have they changed the window of the laboratory ?
Has the window of the laboratory been changed?
5 Has Tom finished the work ?
Has the work been finished by Tom?
- T asks Ss to practice more at home
