II Lựa chọn cách viết:
Đối với dạng bài Opinion, đề bài muốn hỏi về qua điểm của b n về một vấ đề
ào đó Công việc của bạn là phải đưa ra quan điểm của mình xuyên suốt toàn bộ bài viết (cả mở bài (introduction) và kết luận (conclusion)), bạn có thể đồng ý (totally/ absolutely/ completely + agree), không đồng ý (totally/ absolutely/ completely + disagree) hoặc đồng ý một phần (partly agree)
Trang 2- Với việc đồng ý hoàn toàn (totally/ absolutely/ completely + agree) hoặc
không đồng ý (totally/ absolutely/ completely + disagree) thông thường có thể được gọi là bài viết một mặt (one side of the argument)
- Còn đối với việc đồng ý một phần (partly agree) thông thường có thể gọi là
bài viết hai mặt (both sides of the argument)
Một số ý kiến cho rằng, viết một mặt thì dễ hơn là bài viết hai mặt, hoặc là người mới bắt đầu thì nên viết một mặt Theo ý kiến của mình, lựa chọn cách viết một
mặt hay hai mặt đối với bài luận Opinion còn phụ thuộc vào đầu bài đưa ra, và cách viết nào cũng có cái thuận lợi và khó khă riê
- Đối với kiểu viết một mặt, có thể bạn dễ tìm ý hơn, nhưng support cho các
ideas trong lối viết này có thể khó khăn hơn và cũng khó triển khai ý hơn
- Đối với kiểu viết hai mặt thì có thể khó tìm ý hơn, nhưng rõ ràng với bài viết
hai mặt thì bài viết chắc chắn phong phú hơn và bạn cũng “khoe” được vốn
từ vựng của mình một cách hiệu quả hơn
Vấ đề quan trọng nhất, theo mình, lựa chọn lối viết nào thì phải bám vào đề bài đưa ra
Ví dụ với đề bài như sau:
Universities should accept equal numbers of male and female students in every subject To what extent do you agree or disagree?
(Các trường đại học nên chấp nhận số sinh viên nam và nữ bằng nhau trong tất cả các môn học Trong một chừng mực nào đó bạn đồng ý hay không đồng ý?)
Đề bài trên rõ ràng đưa ra một vấn đề rất thiếu thực tế và gầ hư khô thể thực hiệ được Như vậy chúng ta cứ cố viết theo lối hai mặt đồng ý một phần
Trang 3(nghĩa là vẫn ùng hộ ý kiến trên ở một vài điểm nào đó) thì sẽ rất khó khăn tìm ý cũng như rất khó support cho các ideas đưa ra

Mặc dù vậy thì chúng ta chúng có thể xem xét hình thức kiểm tra năng lực sinh viên một cách thường xuyên (continuous assessment) để giảm bớt áp lực thi cử cho sinh viên (to relieve the students of exam pressure)

Intro:
There is some dispute whether the best method of assessing students is to use examinations or some form of continuous assessment This is a complex issue and
my belief is that there is probably no one method that applies to all educational systems
Conclusion:
In conclusion, while continuous assessment may be fairer in some contexts, there are still times when traditional exams may be more appropriate
A possible compromise would be to use both forms of testing together, allowing teachers to reward both ability and hard work

IELTS Writing Task 2: agree, disagree, or both?
For 'agree or disagree' essays, do you think you should give both sides of the argument
or just one side? The answer is that you can do either
A) Essay structure for one side of the argument:
Trang 51 Introduction: topic + your opinion (either agree or disagree)
2 First idea to support your opinion
3 Second idea to support your opinion
4 Conclusion: repeat your opinion
B) Essay structure for giving both sides:
1 Introduction: topic + say that you 'partly agree'
2 On the one hand,
3 On the other hand,
4 Conclusion: repeat that you accept elements of both arguments
Remember: it's very important to get the introduction right This tells the examiner
whether you are going to give one side of the argument or both sides

IELTS Writing Task 2: opinion, not discussion
If the question asks whether you agree or disagree, it is asking for your opinion You should express your opinion in the introduction, and support it in the rest of the essay
Don’t structure an “opinion” essay like this:
1 Introduction
2 Paragraph supporting the opposite opinion
3 Paragraph supporting my opinion
4 Conclusion
The problem with this essay structure is that paragraph 2 is not consistent with my opinion This is a “discussion” essay structure!
Think of it this way: your task when you answer an “agree or disagree” question is to persuade the reader that your view is right Each paragraph should defendyour opinion

Body 1: As people live longer and the populations of developed countries grow older, several related problems can be anticipated ( Topic sentence ) The main issue is that there will obviously be more people of retirement age who will be eligible to receive a pension The proportion of younger, working adults will be smaller, and governments will therefore receive less money in taxes in relation to the size of the population In other words , an ageing population will mean a greater tax burden for working adults Further pressures will include a rise in the demand for healthcare, and the fact young adults will increasingly have to look after their elderly relatives
Body 2: There are several actions that governments could take to solve the problems described above (topic sentence) Firstly , a simple solution would be to increase the retirement age for working adults, perhaps from 65 to 70 Nowadays, people of this age tend to be healthy enough to continue a productive working life A second measure would be for governments to encourage immigration in order to increase the number of working adults who pay taxes Finally, money from national budgets will need to be taken from other
areas and spent on vital healthcare, accommodation and transport facilities for the rising numbers of older citizens
