Lesson 1: GETTING STARTED + LISTEN AND READ

I Objectives:

 By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

- Be aware of how to make accept and decline invitation

- Read for details making plans for vacation a board

- Develop listening and speaking skills

II Preparations:

- Pictures, cassette, textbook

III Procedures:

WARM UP (5ms)

5ms - Ask students play game “

Guessing Game”

- Show pictures to students, one by

one, and ask students to guess what

country it is

- Practice the dialogue

PRESENTATION ( 15ms)

15ms - Use the pictures in text book and

asks:

+ Who is Mrs Smith and who is

Mrs Quyen? Are they talking on

the phone ? Wher are they calling

from ?

- Give new words and ask students

match them with the correct

meaning

- Answer teacher’s question

- Students match them with the correct meaning

- Ask students to work in pair to

ask and anwer the questions:

not?

c How will Mrs Quyen go to Mrs

Smith’s house?

- Ask students to go to the board

and write their answer

- Read answer

- Work in pair to ask and anwer the questions

* Answer the questions:

a No, they won’t Because they are coming on a tour, and their acommodation is included in the ticket price, so they will stay at a hotel

b No, he won’t Because he will have

a business meeting in the evening that day

c Mrs Smith will pick her up at the hotel

- Do as direct

- Copy down on notebook

8ms - Ask students to play “ Lucky

Number”

- Divide class into two groups

(A&B)

- Ask each group to choose the

number and answer the questions

( each correct anwser they will get

10 marks, when choosing lucky

number they do not answer but

getting marks)
