1 GRAMMAR

1.1 The present continuous tense

- Usage:

+ to say what is happening at the moment

Ex: Where is Paul? He is playing football

+ describe a temporary state

Ex: My motorbike is under maintenance My friend is giving

me a lift till I take it back

+ describe a future arrangement

Ex: You are going to have a test in next class

1.2 Have/Have got

+ “Have” can be more formal, used to talk about

activities, in writing and in all tenses

Ex: I have lunch at 12h30

+ “Have got” is informal, used in present tense, to

talk about possession

Ex: We have got a house in the countryside
