1 Scope

This International Stand ard defines terms relating to mas es and d imensions of carav ans

It do s not deal with method s of measurement, the u its used in reporting the results, the ac uracy

required or the order of mag nitude of the mas es an d imensions d efined

4 General

Unles otherwise stated , the definitions are a pl ca le for a carav an new f om the factory , in the fol owing

conditions:

a) the carav an is stationary and the sup orting sur ace is horiz ntal; leng ths and widths are measured

in the horiz ntal plane, an heig hts in the v ertical plane;

b) al whe ls of the carav an, includ ing the jockey whe l, rest on the sup orting sur ace, an its interior

flo r is horiz ntal;

c) ro f v ents, do r , and wind ows are closed ; retracta le steps are retracted;

d ) the long itudinal median plane of the carav an is that defined in ISO61 , clause5;

e) the mas ofthe carav an, at the moment of measurement, is the ma imum authoriz d total mas

( se 5.1.4.2), the loa being distributed ac ording to the manufacturer’s instructions;

f) the ty res are inflated to the pres ure cor esponding to the ma imum authoriz d total mas

( se 5.1.4.2) of the carav an
