1 Objectives

By the end of this lesson, students will be able to…

1.1 Language knowledge/ skills

- learn and practise vocabulary for holiday activities, eco-tourism and ways to protect

heritage: explore nature, go on guided tours; try local dishes, visit local sights, sunbathe, buy souvenirs, see wildlife, help conserve endangered species.

- practise speaking about favourite types of holiday and activities

- practise pronunciation for /f/ and /v/

- improve listening skills for specific information

Task 1 Listen and repeat Which holiday

activities in the photo can you do on a safari

holiday? a beach holiday? a sightseeing

holiday? an eco-holiday? a package holiday?

- Play the recording, using the IWB (if any) with

pauses for Ss to repeat chorally and/or

individually

- Check Ss’ pronunciation and intonation

- Ask Ss to look at the pictures

- Explain the task

- Give Ss time to complete it

- Get Ss to check their answers with their

friends

- Elicit the meaning of the verb phrases if

necessary

- Listen to the recording, using the IWB (if any) and repeat
