UNIT 8: FILMS( Skills 2)

I Objectives:

1 Knowledge:

- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to

+ Listen for specific information about a film

+Write a short paragraph about 70 words about their favourite film

2 Competence:

- Linguistic competence, cooperative learning and communicative competence

3 Attitude:

- Students will develop their writing about their favourite film and choose a film to relax themselves

III Procedure:

Activity 1: Warm-up Task 1 Work in pairs Discuss the following question (5 minutes)

Goal Motivate students and lead-in the lesson

What do you like / dislike about a comedy?

Activity 2: task 2 Mark and Hoa are talking about the film Naughty Twins Listen to the conversation who stars in the film ( 8 minutes)

Procedure  - T runs through and explains how to do the task

- T asks students to listen

- Students listen and do the task( work individually) then compare the answers

- Students give answers

Activity 4: Task 4 Writing Make notes about one of your favourite film (10 minutes)

- It’s about the life of a stupid ugly man, Forrest and his love for a neighbor girl, Jenny The film is moving and hilarious The ending is happy, because they have good life and a son. 

- The acting of two characters is very good The music is interesting and suitable for film content The visuals are beautiful with scenery of

countryside, crowded cities in USA

- Critics say that the film is the best film with moving scenes and meaningful messages.  I think that the film is so wonderful from actor, actress to visual, music. 

Procedure - T runs through and explain how to do the task

- T asks students to make notes about one of their favourite film.Remind them that they do not have to write full sentences Then asks student to share their notes with their partners

- Students write the notes their favourite film individually

- Students share their notes with their partners

- T calls some students to write their notes on the board

- Other students and the teacher comment on the notes

- T gives feedback

Activity 5: Task 5 Write a paragraph of about 70 words about their favourite film using the information in 4.( 10minutes)

Goal To help students practice writing a paragraph of about 70 words about their

favourite film

- Sts do the task in groups

- T moves around and helps them

- Sts share their answers

- Each group presents the paragragh on the board

- T gives feeback

Homework: (2 minutes)

- Teacher asks sts to rewrite the paragragh in their notebooks

- Prepare: Looking Back – Project( Unit 8)
