I OBJECTIVES:
1 Knowledge:
By the end of the lesson, students can use although/though and to express contrast between two pieces of information in the same sentences and
use however to express contrast between two sentences.
2 Competence:
Co-operation, self- study, using language to do exercises
3 Attitude:
Students will be more aware of spending time watching film and choose the best film for themselves

Activity 1: Warm up (Brainstorming) (5 minutes)
Goal To help students to remind some conjunctions which they
have learnt in class 6

they have learnt on the board

Activity 2: GRAMMAR – Although/Though (10 minutes)
Goal To help students to connect two contrasting ideas in the same
sentence by using although/though
Input Although /though
We use although/though before a clause to connect two
contrasting ideas in the same sentence
Example: 1 Although / T hough John Peters is an amateur actor, he gave a great performance in his latest film
2 John Peters gave a great performance in his latest film although /though he is an amateur actor
Task 1: Combine the two sentences, using although /though
Example: She watched the film twice She didn’t understand
the film
Although/Though she watched the film twice, she
didn’t understand it
She didn’t understand the film although/though she
watched it twice
1 The questions were very difficult He solved them easily
2 He was a great actor He never played a leading role in a film

Activity 3: GRAMMAR – However (8 minutes)
Goal To help sts to connect two contrasting ideas between two
sentences (However)
We use however to contrast ideas in two sentences We
normally use a comma after it
Example: John Peters is an amateur actor However, he
gave a great performance in his latest film
Task 2: Complete the sentences using although/ though
or however
