This warning display was originally “S99-1404-8” error display before the introduction of “x1
ComColor” firmware package version GMALL/V11.05.00
That “S99-1404-8” error was changed to “W214-1939” warning message by above
machine firmware package version
The “S” error display needs printer rebooting to attempt escaping from the error display.
In the rebooting process, the on-going print job is erased The prints already made on that print job needs to be wasted due to the reason that the operator needs to throw in the same print job once the printer is rebooted
On the other hand, a “W” warning display allows the operator to resume the interrupted
printing job without rebooting the printer and without the need to resend the printing job nor
to waste printing papers
Refer to the attached “Q&A-055” document for the detail on this “W214-1939” warning

The above warning message was changed from an error message, “S99-1404-8”, about a year ago when “x1 ComColor” machine firmware “GMALL/V11.05.00” was introduced.

S99-1404-8 is software error message which displays when software control abnormality in the count control part of the engine firmware is detected.
This count control error occurs mainly when optional finishing equipment, such as High Capacity Stacker, etc is connected to “x1 ComColor”.
It is very seldom that this S99-1404-8 error message displays on the printer, and the error clears once the printer is rebooted.
The rebooting cancels the on-going printing job and other printing jobs on queue, which is very annoying.
To evade this bothersome printer rebooting, this error message is substituted by above warning message W214-1939 so the on-going printing job can be continued by pressing the
“Continue” button on the warning message.
The caution here is that as indicated on the W214-1939 warning message, the ejected sheets which caused the count control error may be double printed and ejected.
Therefore it is important that “Continue” button be pressed to resume the printing and then after several sheets are printed, the printing be stopped by pressing the “Stop” button on the operation panel Then check the ejected sheets to check for any doubled copy on the output tray, and then press the “Start” button on the operation panel to resume the printing again.
