This is not the time to be travelling around sightseeing etc and returning to the hotel late This can occur after the competition is completed If families are wanting to travel and sightsee on
competition and training day they must advise the 3 delegates Until the competition is over, we expect all athletes to follow the rules
We expect the best performance of our athletes possible It is requested that squad members when not competing show their support to their team mates & other athletes on the floor
We are looking forward to seeing great performances and personal bests on the floor, even though this maybe your first international competition it’s important to do your best and always show great sportsmanship, remember your representing Australia

2 Twirling Federation and fellow athletes These policies have been mutually established for your
own welfare and the good of your fellow athletes Using common sense will avoid all problems with this document
3 It is the policy of ABTA that anyone traveling on the Pan Pacific Cup Tour will sign an agreement
adhering to the Code of Conduct
4 Chaperones: Athletes under the age of 18 are to be chaperoned at all times by his/her
appointed
5 guardian, coach or parent
6 Curfew: Curfews will be established on site with regards to hotel, competition and USTA policies

7 procedures Lateness will not be accepted

Risk management is a tool that assists Twirling Australia and its officials use to meet their duties and thus minimise their liability It is a proactive system that attempts to address potential problem areas and substantially reduce the risk of injury to our Twirlers In the event of injury while twirling you must advise an Official represented of the Australian squad
AS A TOURIST AND AS A TRAVELLER OVERSEAS WE EMPLOY THE IMPORTANCE OF THE FOLLOWING
INFORMATION
1 It imperative that you purchase your own travel insurance in the event of lost luggage, injury or hospitalization so you will be covered Medical services are not free in the USA
If you are unsure which Insurance to take contact your local travel agent

3 To effectively manage the risk of overseas travel the Pan Pacific Group should:
put in place effective risk management procedures for all overseas travel, even short-term travel
to locations considered low-threat;
4 understand the threat profile of all travel destinations and establish effective ways of monitoring and mitigating these risks;
5 ensure crisis and emergency plans are regularly rehearsed, validated and understood by all staff;

Travel information
Before boarding a United States-bound aircraft or vessel, all Australian passport-holders eligible to travel to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP) must apply for an Electronic System for Travel Authorisation (ESTA) through the official ESTA website
Keep copies of the passport card or photo ID page of your passport in different places in your luggage (you will need this at the airport when going through customs Both in Australia and USA
In case of the loss of your passport, (Make an additional copy and place with your travel
documents.) this copy could get you home It is usually necessary to present your passport when you exchange money, in some cases when making purchases, and anytime you cross a border into another country
Prior to leaving home copy all passports and travel itinery and give to a person that is staying at home incise of any emergency’s
Ensure that your travel card is accessible and you have set up all functionalities prior to leaving Australia
If you will not be changing money, then keep your passport in the safety deposit box Your hotel room usually has one in your room

Foreign countries have different voltage and plugs An adapter/converter kit is available at most

Jet Lag:
• As you fly to another country, you will experience a large time change Though there are several do-it-yourself remedies for dealing with jet lag, the best method is to get on your new time zone schedule as quickly as possible This usually means resting on the airplane, avoid napping when you arrive, and stay up until your new night-time and get a good night's sleep.

One of the most exciting roles to have on the Australian Pan Pacific Tour is as a parent or supporter Unlike the athlete, coaches and officials, you are free to enjoy the sites and surroundings of the host country
In addition, during the competition We encourage you to enjoy the true spirit of international sport with colors flying, flags waving, drums beating and fans yelling
You have a terrific vantage point from which to view the activities From Opening Ceremonies to

During the days preceding the competition, you will be able to visit and tour at your leisure
We will update our Facebook page daily to keep you informed of the team's activities and events
included for everyone
During the competition, gather as a group, sit together in the stands, be a united front for Team Australia You are invited to take part in the U.S Welcome Party, specific tours designed for the whole group, the competition, Opening and Closing Ceremonies
Other activities may be included in your trip with more time available to you than other tour participants, you may wish to gather some people together to take a special day trip or tour
Transportation for any trip outside will be at your expense

Clothing for Athletes
Attire Most of the trip to the Pan Pacific Cup allows the athlete
to use their own discretion in attire There will be times, however, when the team will be asked to dress a certain way Dress for comfort on the airplane Pack your Australian Official tracksuit, t-shirt, Costumes, hairpieces, tights, socks and shoes
in the carry-on you will have on the plane in case of the loss of your luggage
Your Batons will need to be placed in your checked in luggage
Your Australian Official Tracksuit (and Australian Polo) will be required at: opening ceremonies -closing ceremonies -other times, as requested
Feel free to wear your supporters gear throughout training and
at the competition

Athletes should attend practice with all the
equipment necessary for their productivity,
including batons, shoes, towels, music, sound
speakers, snacks, water, and their own specific
sports medicine or first aid needs
The AUS Team does have a medical kit for
practice and competition
The arena will permit practice in the “practice
area” on the main gymnasium floor (behind the
curtain to the main floor), as well as practice on
the upper concourse (see attachment)
We will have monitors assisting athletes and
coaches with finding their designated area The
practice session for the arena will be divided up as
follows:
Session ONE
Practice Area 1: Australia and Canada
(2:00 PM to 3:30 PM) – 57 athletes
Session TWO
Practice Area 2: Australia and Canada
(3:30 PM – 5:00 PM) – 57 athletes
All athletes will be required to attend every
training session 45 minutes prior to the training time you will need to be ready and waiting in the hotel foyer Please do not be late
Coaches and Team Manager and Chaperone will
be responsible for the athletes while at training Please note both athletes and parents/supporters have signed a contract Particularly the section relating to training for all athletes
All athletes are under the care of the ABTA and the ABTA has sole responsibility of your
child/athlete during the Championship period which includes practice days prior
Please note that parents will not be able to attend
any training sessions Parents will however be expected to be in the hotel foyer to collect their athlete on the return from any training session This
is for those athlete’s traveling with us who are under 18
Also as per the contract All mobiles phones are to
be handed to the chaperone as they enter the training venue at any training session and when competing At the conclusion of the training session and your event you phone will be returned
to you
