UNIT 11: TRAVELLING IN THE FUTURE

Lesson 6: Skill 2

I OBJECTIVES:

By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

1 Knowledge:

* Vocab:

use the lexical items related to the topic Travelling in the future and means

of transport in the future.

• listen for specific information about means of transport in the future

write a passage about the advantages of the mean of transport they’ve chosen

* Grammar: The simple future.

2 Competences:

- Know how to use the future tenses and use some words to say about the means

of transport in the future Develop listening and writing

- Communication, self-learning capability, creative capacity, ability to listening and writing skills

3 Qualities:

- have positive attitude in English language learning so that they actively

participate in all classroom activities

- they can listen, speak, read, understand the dialogue about means of transport

in the future and write a short paragraph about the advantage of transport

II TEACHING AIDS

1 Teacher: Text books, pictures, planning, …

- Grade 7 textbook, Unit 11, Skill 2

III PROCEDURES:

1.Warm-up (5’)

* Aim: - activate students’ knowledge on the topic of the unit.

- set the context for the listening and writing part

* Content: Game: network (about means of transport)

* Products: Ss write words exactly on the board.

- Look at the picture on page 116- 118 in

20 seconds and try to remember as many

words as possible

- Teacher divides the class into two teams

- Ss go to the board and write the words

* Network:

- electric scooter, electric car, walkcar, hyperloop, roadrunner’s car, solar- powered ship,

- Teacher gets feedback -> Today we are

going to learn some more combinations

about means of transport in the future and

their advantages

2 Presentation (5’)

* Aim: Enrich students’ vocabulary to talk about means of transport in the future

and their advantages and disadvantages

* Content: Vocabulary about means of transport and their advantages

* Products: Read and understand the meaning of words

Pre teach vocabulary

- Teacher use different techniques to teach

vocab (pictures, situation, realia)

- Follow the seven steps of teaching vacab

- Repeat in chorus and individually

- Copy all the words

* Checking vocab: < Matching>

* Vocabulary

- safe, green, fast, convenient, driverless………

3 Pre- listening (5’)

Task 1

* Aims: To help students brainstorm and have an overview about what they are

going to listen to

* Content: Guess the answer to the following questions.

* Products: Students say the correct answers aloud.

- Teacher lets students work

in pairs and discuss the

speak English and feel free to

make guesses

* Content: Write the answers to the questions about means of transport and their

Task 5:T-Sts, Sts – Sts

- Teacher asks students to

work in groups of four, gives

them a large piece of paper

and asks them to write the

full paragraph into the paper

in 7 minutes

- Teacher asks students to pay

attention to punctuation,

structures, word choice,

linking words, etc
