UNIT 13: HOBBIES LESSON 3: SPEAKING

I Class detail:

- Level: Grade 11

- Class size: 42 students

II Time allotted: 45 minutes

III Objectives:

By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

- Know more about how to collect something;

- Help students practice speaking skill

IV Methods: Integrated, mainly communicative.

V Lesson focus: Reading

VI Teaching aids and materials:

- Teacher: textbook, chalks, board, laptop, projector, pictures.

- Students: textbook, notebook, pens

VII Procedures:

Greeting (1 minute):

- T says: “Good morning class! How are you today?”

- T checks Ss’s attendance

A Warm up: (7ms)

Game: SIMON SAYS

“When T says “Simon says”: “Raise your

hand”, Ss follow But when T says: “Sit down”

and don’t say “Simon says”, Ss can't follow T

calls 5 Ss doing wrong to go to the board and

dance to the music which T chooses.”

Some verbal commands:

+ Simon says: Touch your ear!

- Listen.

- Play game

1 Vocabulary:

- second-hand brand-new (adj): /ˈsekənd

hænd/ /ˌbrænd ˈnjuː/ : cũ, dùng lại hàng mới

+ Give Ss a word: “brand-new”

+ Ask Ss: What is the antonym of “brand-new”?

and what does it mean in Vietnamese?

carefully and answer the question: What is

+ Give a definition of “landscape”: a large

area of countryside, especially in relation to its

appearance.

+ Ask Ss to look at the picture and read

carefully the definition to guess the word
