I General information:

Vietnam, officially the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, is the easternmost

country on the Southeast Asian Indochinese Peninsula

Geographical location:

Vietnam is located on the eastern

margin of the Indochinese peninsula and occupies about 331,211.6 square kilometers The elongated roughly shaped country has a north-to-south S

distance of 1,650 km and is about 50 km wide at the narrowest point With a coastline of 3,260 km excluding islands, Vietnam claims 12 nautical miles It has an exclusive economic zone of 417,663 km with 200 nautical miles 2

Location: Vietnam is located on the

latitudes and 8° 24°N, and the

longitudes 102° and 110°E It covers a total

area of approximately 331,212 km The2

combined length of the country's land

boundaries is 4,639 km and its coastline is

3,444 km long.

Climate: Due to differences in latitude and

the marked variety in topographical relief,

Vietnam's climate tends to vary

considerably for each region Vietnam is

one of the world's countries most

vulnerable to climate change, with 55% of

its population living in low-elevation

coastal areas

Biodiversity: As the country is located

within the Indomalayan realm, Vietnam is

one of twenty-five countries considered to

possess a uniquely high level

of biodiversity 15,986 species of flora have

been identified in the country, of which

10% are endemic Vietnam's fauna includes:

307 nematode species, 200 oligochaeta,

145 acarina, 113 springtails, 7,750 insects,

260 reptiles, and 120 amphibians 840 birds

and 310 mammals are found in Vietnam, of

which 100 birds and 78 mammals are

endemic.[182] Vietnam has two World

Natural Heritage Sites, the Ha Long

II Economy of Vietnam

1 GDP (Gross Domestic Product):

 The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Vietnam was worth 255 billion

US dollars in 2019, according to official data from the World Bank and projections from Trading Economics The GDP value of Vietnam

represents 0.21 percent of the world economy

 Vietnam's gross domestic product advanced by 3.82 percent year-on-year in the first quarter of 2020, following a downwardly revised 6.79 percent growth in the previous period This was the slowest GDP

growth rate since the second quarter of 2009, hampered by the

coronavirus pandemic and weaker global demand Manufacturing rose 7.12 percent, services advanced 3.27 percent and agriculture went up only 0.08 percent The government is targetting an economic growth of 6.8% this year, but warned that it could slow to 6% if the virus effects continue in the second quarter
