I Aims and objectives :

- To introduce students with some new words relating to the topic “ Equal opportunities in education”.

- To help Ss read for specific information about gender equality in

Vietnam’s education

- By the end of the lesson, Ss are able to:

+ Improve listening and speaking skills

+ Skim and scan a text for main ideas and specific information

+ Understand some more about the topic

+ Use vocabulary related to the topic of the lesson through exercises

- To educate students to know that they should get more knowledge about gender equality

1 Language: Vocabulary: enroll, eliminate, discrimination

2 Skills: Integrated skills, mainly reading skills

3 Attitude: Students take active part in activities and tasks in class

4 Techniques: Questions- answers, discussion, explanation, definition, game

II Teaching methods and materials

1 Method: Communicative Approach

2 Material needed:textbooks, papers, sub-board, pictures

III Teacher’s and students’ preparation:

1 Teacher’s preparation: lesson plan, textbooks, sub-board

2 Students’ preparation: new words, textbooks, reading the passage
