About This Manual
The technical manual describes the protection, automation, control, and supervision functions of PCS-9631S capacitor relay, and contains operation principle descriptions, and lists function blocks, logic diagrams, input and output signals, setting parameters and technical data, sorted per function, as well as the hardware of the device The manual can be used as a technical reference during the engineering phase and during normal service In addition, the manual also includes a glossary that lists and defines technical terms used throughout the manual

1.1 Application
The PCS-9631S relay is a protection, control and monitoring unit for the capacitor in all systems of
which the neutral point is effectively grounded or not effectively grounded Many auxiliary
functions such as fault location, fault recording, event recording, communication functions and etc
are also integrated into the device This relay is suitable for wall surface mounted indoors or
outdoors or flush mounted into a control panel
The function diagram of this relay is shown in Figure 1.1-1
