T lets Ss listen to T sang the song Happy New

Year and asks them to answer the following

questions

1 What is the title of the song ?

2 When do people often sing it ?

3 What is it about ?

T asks them to work in pairs to answer the

T calls on some Ss to give their answers

- Today we will read a passage about Tet

holiday

- Ss give answers in front of the class

1 It is Spring and it should be Tet holiday because we can see the apricot blossom and a kumquat tree full of ripe fruits

2 The people in the picture may be a family The grandmother is giving her niece and nephew some lucky money The girl, the boy and their parents may be wishing their grand parents good health and happiness.

3 In the picture we can also see a five – fruit tray on the ancestral altar and a dish of fruits , a tray of candied fruits and a trung cake on the table

- Ss may also list other activities they like doing at Tet Give reassons
