1 Thì hiện tại đơn (the present simple )
form : khẳng định: S + V -s,-es
phủ định : S + don’t / doesn’t + infinitive nghi vấn : do /does + S + infinitive
cách chia động từ ở ngôi thứ 3 số ít
động từ tận cùng bằng
phụ âm + y – ies ex : fly - flies
nguyên âm + y +s ex : buy – buys
ss, sh, ch, x, o, z + es ex : box- boxes
cách nhận biết : thờng đi với các trạng từ chỉ tần suất nh : always, often, usually…
2 Trạng từ chỉ tần suất ( adverb of frequency)
vị trí : - trớc động từ chính
- sau động từ BE hoặc trớc BE nếu động từ BE đi với một trợ động từ
- sometimes, usually có thể đứng đầu hoặc cuối câu

3 Thì quá khứ đơn (the past simple )
Form : khẳng định : S + V -d ,-ed/V(irregular)
Phủ định : S + didn’t + infinitive
Nghi vấn : Did + S + infinitive
Cách nhận biết: các trạng từ chỉ thời gian: last (moth, week,year…) ago, yesterday, in (mốc thời gian xác định)
4 Thì hiện tại hoàn thành ( the present perfect)
form : khẳng định : S + have/has +Vp2( past participle )
phủ định : S + have not/ has not + Vp2 nghi vấn : have /has + S + Vp2
cách nhận biết : thờng đi với các trạng từ : yet, already, just, lately, ever, never, since( mốc thời gian), for( khoảng thời gian)
5 Thì quá khứ hoàn thành ( the past perpect)
form : khẳng định : S + had + Vp2
phủ định : S + had not + Vp2
nghi vấn : had + S + Vp2

Thể khẳng định : S + uesd to + infinitive
Thể phủ định : S + didn’t use to + infinitive
Thể nghi vấn : Did + S + use to + infinitive
Phân biệt với : Be used to + N / V-ing trở nên quen với…….
Get used to + V-ing
Eg : He used to live in a cold climate ( anh ấy đã từng sống ở nơi có khí hậu lạnh)
He is used to living in a cold climate.( anh ấy quen sống trong khí hậu lạnh )
