ThepurposeofthisdissertationistoexplorethefactorsthatleadtosuccessfulcloudcomputingadoptionionIrishSMEs.Theliteraturesuggeststhatcloudcomputingisthelatestt e c h n o l o g y trendthatpromisesto redefine the delivery of technology in the hugelyimportant

TheIrishSMEandtechnologysectorarecentralfocusforgovernmentinitiativesandsupport,andDublinistoutedastheCloudComputing capitaloftheworld.However,does theintentionsupporttherealitythatfacesIrishSMEsandcanthisbeafactorinthesuccessofadoptingcloudcomputing

ThefindingsgiveadifferentperspectiveandSMEsarefindingthatfactorsaffectingsuccessfulcloudcomputingadoptionareincontrasttotheliterature.Thisresearchconcludesby

Theresearchquestionsstemfromtheresearcher’sinterestinunderstandingiftheadoptionofc l o u dcomputingis,inpractice,informedbytheory

andresearchliterature,andtheresearcherh a s setthegoalsofthisresearchto answer the followingquestion:

1.4 Scopeandlimitationsoftheresearch

h e s c o p e ofthisresearch.TherationalebehindthisisbasedontheassumptionthatSME’swhohavebroughttheirbusinesstothecloudwillhaveamuchgreaterinterestthanthosethataresimply consumingacloudservice

ThelimitationsofthisresearchisthatitisrestrictedtoonlythoseSME’swhohaveadoptedcloudcomputingtodeliverthecoreproductorserviceoftheir business
