Act 1: Listen and number: (10’)

+ Pre – listening

-Ask Ss to look at the pictures

-Elicit the pictures for ss to identify the

festivals

- Explain the way to do in this part

+ While – listening

- Play the recording through for Ss listen

- Play the recording again for Ss to do the task

- Play the recording once more and pause after

each sentence to check

- Ask Ss to exchange their answers with their

partners before reporting them to the class

- Give them time to read the text given and

find the information which they should

read their answers aloud

- Before they listen, ask them to look at the

pictures and ask them questions to remind

them of the characters (E.g What’s the name

of the black-and-white cat? What’s the name

of the black-and-white mouse? Can you see

the brown cat and the red cat? Who are they?

Do you know the grey mouse? Can you

remember his name?)

- Ask them to read the story in silence Then

play the recording all the way through for

them to listen and follow in their books

- Ask ss to listen again and fill in the gaps

- Ask ss to compare with their partner and

class

- Check

- Ask ss to practice reading the story
