- By the end of this lesson, Ss will be able to greet someone formally

+ Vocabulary: Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, goodbye.

+ Sentence patterns: Good morning + N.

* Special students: Nam Tu can greet someone formally.

- Developing listening and speaking skill(s)

3 Core competencies & Personal qualities

- Communication, ability to use language (work in groups, talk about greeting)

- Ability to solve problems (play the games)

- Cooperation: (work in groups/ pairs)

- Using language to greet someone formally

- Using knowledge to do exercises

- Students be more friendly and confident in communicate with their friends and other people

1 Teacher’s aids: CD, cards, lesson plan, PPT slides,TV, software, speakers.

III Procedures

1 Warm up (5’)

*Activity: Chain drill

- T devides Ss into group of 10

- T asks Ss to count number from one to ten

2.1 Activity 1: Look, listen and repeat (8’)

- T ask Ss to look at the pictures

- T: How many people are there?

- Ss: There are four

- T: What are their names?

Set the scence: Ask Ss to open their book on

page 7 and tells them that they are going to listen

to the recording and tick the correct picture

- T plays the recording for Ss to listen 1st time

- T plays the recording again for Ss to listen and

tick the correct answer

- Asks Ss to exchange their answer with partners

before reporting them to the class

- T asks Ss to read out the answer

- T plays the CD again for Ss to check the answer

Further practice: Who is faster

- T devides Ss into 2 teams (5 Ss in each team)

- T explains how to play this game

- T lets 2 teams play together

2.2 Activity 2: Look and write (9’)

-T sets the scene by drawing a picture

- Ask Ss to look at the sentences

- Ask Ss to look the picture and complete

3.3 Activity 3: Let’s sing (9’)

- T shows the picture on the board

- T asks Ss the content of the picture
