I AIMS

1 Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

- Read and say the three Ee words correctly

- Recognize and say a new Ee word correctly

2 Skills: Develop Ss listening, reading, writing and speaking skill

3 Attitude: Help Ss to be more confident to communicate in English

II TEACHING AIDS

1 Teacher’s: Lesson plan, books, CD.

2 Students’: Books, notebooks.

* Students with disabilities: can listen and repeat the words: elbow and colour the

picture

METHOD:

- Communicative approach

Techniques:+ Work individually, in pairs/ groups

IV PROCEDURE

1 Organization: (1’)

- Greetings: T – Ss greet each other

- Checking attendance: Who’s absent today? Ss: Answer

2.Warm up: (5’)

- Greet students

- Review the previous lesson by playing the “Form a line game”

- Put up the phonics cards on the board

- Have 3 student volunteers

- Hand out the pieces of paper to the students

-A teacher says: Form a line; then the students line up in front of the board in the same order as the phonics cards

- Repeat the procedure with another group of students

- Give feedback

- Point to the letters and revise the sounds

- Ask students to listen and tick the correct letter

Activity: Mime the Word (5’)

- Ask students to stand at their desks

- Say the word, e.g It’s an elephant

- The students repeat and perform a simple

action, e.g Students say It’s an elephant and

mime being elephants for a few seconds

Activity 7 Listen, point and repeat Colour the

pictures of the words that start with the e sound

Say the e words (Track 34) (10’)

* Listen, point and repeat

Show the students the elbow phonics card Point to

it and say: /e/ - elbow Ask them to repeat

Do action like elbow and say /e/, elbow

Encourage the students to do the same

Say the letter and ask students do the action

Play the CD

Ask students listen, point to and repeat the word

* Colour the pictures of the words that start with

the e sound Say the e words

- Point to pictures and have students name them

- Name some colours and ask the students to repeat

- Ask the students colour the pictures which have

Ee in them

- Give the students 4 minutes to colour in the ‘egg’

and ‘elephant’ that have Ee in them

- Go around the classroom providing any necessary

help

*Activity: Craftwork (10’)

- Ask the students to take out their notebooks

- Ask them to choose one word the draw the letter

and the picture in their notebooks

- Tell them to colour the letter and the picture

I AIMS

- Review the sound of the letter Ee, four Ee words and recognize the corresponding pictures

Write the letter Ee

2 Skills: Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking.

3 Attitude: - Help Ss to be more confident to communicate in English

II TEACHING AIDS:

1 Teacher’s: Lesson plan, workbook.

2 Students’: Books, notebooks, workbooks.

* Students with disabilities: Ss can match words with the picture And colour the

picture

III METHOD:

Communicative approach

Techniques:+ Work individually, in pairs/ groups

IV PROCEDURE.

1.Organization (1’)

- Greeting

- Check class’ attendance

2.Warm up: (5’)

- Greet the students

- Revision of the previous lessons through ‘Jump game’

- Put a line of masking tape on the floor and designate one side True and the other False

- Hold up a phonics card, e.g egg and say: egg Then students jump on the True side

- Hold up another phonics card, e.g elf and say: ant Then students jump on the False side

- The students who end up on the wrong side sit out until the next game

*Revision of letter E, its sound(3’)

-Write on the board the big E and small e

- Point to the letter E and say out loud “This is the

letter E/i/ The letter E says /e/”

- Point to the letter e and say out loud “This is the

letter e/i/ The letter esays /e/”

- Have the class repeat its sound chorally, then

individually

- Have the students say the sound individually,

correct the pronunciation if necessary

*How to write letter E(4’)

Writing& Speaking

- Demonstrate how to write thebig E stroke by

stroke

- Draw an example of letter E using dashed lines

- Use a different colored chalk to model tracing the

letter E

- Have some students practice tracing letter E on the

board

- Have students trace letter E in the books

- Students say /e/ after each finished letter

- Go around to give help if necessary

Repeat the same procedure with the lower letter e

Activity 2:Trace and match (page 12 – Activity

Book)(6’)

Writing & Reading

- Copy the 2 boxes from the book to the board and

put the phonics card of elbow up between them

- Tell the students that you are going to write the

letter Aa and Ee into the box

- Demonstrate the writing

- Draw linesto the correct pictures that correspond

to each letter

- Go around the classroom and providing any

necessary help

Activity 3:What is it?Colour the Ee letters and

say (Page 13 – Activity Book) ) (9’)

*Revision of the letter from Unit 1 to Unit 5–

Thumbs Up or Down game(4’)

Speaking& Listening

- Hold up the phonics cards one at time

- Ask students to confirm the word you say by

putting their thumbs up or down and give the
