LESSON 3: A 4,5 A.Objectives:

1 Aims:

- Review the words about the subjects, activities in the classes, time to start the

subjects

- Reading comprehension about study in Viet Nam

- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to listen and read about school subjects vocabulary

2 Practice skill:

- Drill listening skills, pronunciation about school and study

- Drill reading skills

3 The knowledge needs to get:

+ Standard knowledge:

- Listen and understand the subjects according to the pictures, write the timetable

of Hoa and Ba

- Read fluently A5, and understand the content of the text

+ Advanced knowledge: Write 5 questions about the text and ask a friend to

answer

4 Basic language:

- Vocabulary: the same, period, instead, class activity, essay, event, as well

Phrases: how things work, such as, all of our classes

- Structure: Present simple tense

5 Attitude:

- Educate ss to learn hard and love school, subjects at school

B Teaching- aids:

C Methods:

- Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work

- Some techniques can be used: Matching, Open prediction, Comprehension Questions, Noughts and crosses

- Describe the recess in the pictures or in the school

- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to talk about recess activities,

using the present progressive tense

2 Practice skill:

- Further practice listening, reading and speaking skill

3 The knowledge needs to get:

+ Standard knowledge:

- Know the words about the activities at recess

- Ask and answer about the activities which are happening in the pictures

+ Advanced knowledge: Describe the recess in their class

4 Basic language:

- Vocabulary: bell, recess, blindman’s bluff, catch, marbles, rope, excited, like, go into, indoors, to chat, to play catch / marbles / blindman’s bluff, to skip rope

- By the end of the lesson, students will be able read for details about recess

activities in an American high school

2 Practice skill:

- Drill reading comprehension skills

- Practice asking and answering about the most popular activities at recess
