I WARM UP:

Matching: Hobbies and pictures

• Swimming, keeping fish, playing chess, fishing,

playing the guitar, collecting stamps

What do you do in your free time?

II PRE-READING:

- Ask students to look at the pictures in the book and

list some more things people can do in their free time.

- Ask sts to answer the question:

1 When do people do these things?

2 What do you call things you do in your free

time?

Today we are going to talk more about hobbies In

the first place ,I’d like to help you with some new

words

II PRE-SPEAKING:

Vocabulary

IV POST-SPEAKING:

Find someone who

Divide the class into two groups Each group nominates one representative

Write these activities in a piece of paper

Ask each representative to mime some activities ,and the members of his /her group will have to guess what the activity is The two representatives take turns to do the miming four times The group which has more correct answers will win the game

Declare the winner

T draws two faces of two girl and leads

in the conversation

Now, What are their names?

T delivers the handouts (questions)

- Now , work in pairs to read the conversation between them ,then one asks the questions that follow and the other answer them

Now that you have 5 questions .This time you are going to play the roles of Nam and Nga ,who are talking about stamp collections .You can use those five questions to ask about your friend’s hobby and you can use the following information as help

T goes around to offer help if need be

T listens to SS and collects their mistakes for indirect correction

T asks Ss to work in groups of five to talk about their hobbies, using the following questionnaire as help

I have been collecting both local stamps and

foreign stamps from the letters of friends and

relatives

I classify the stamps into categories I put stamps

of animals, flowers, birds….on different pages

I keep them in two albums, one for local and the

other for foreign ones

Collecting stamps help to broaden my knowledge

about the world around me and it is an effective

way to be good at geography

I plan to join the stamp exhibitions to learn from

experienced stamp collectors and I can expose

my collection at an exhibition in the future
