- Tell Ss that they are going to practise saying two

syllable words with the stress on the first syllable

Explain that in a word with more than one syllable,

one of the syllables is usually said with more

emphasis then the rest( eg: ’city, ’village,

’mountain, ’tower.)

- Play the recording and ask Ss to repeat a few time

check their answers

- Give them time to write the words in the gaps

- Get Ss to swap their answers before you check as a
