I.Too ….to : quỏ …khụng thể.

- Được dựng để chỉ một nguyờn nhõn đưa tới một kết quả phủ định.

* Form: Too + adj/adv + to –inf

* Eg: - He is too young to go to school.

- She ran too slowly to catch the train.

- Nếu động từ theo sau diễn tả một sự việc được thực hiện bởi một chủ ngữ khác với chủ ngữ của động từ đi trước thì ta dùng:

* Form: Too + adj/adv + for + somebody + to –inf

* Eg : - The questions are too difficult for us to answer.

- The box was too heavy for the children to carry.

II.Enough to …: đủ …để có thể.

- Được dùng để chỉ một nguyên nhân đưa tới một kết quả tất nhiên.

* Form: adj/adv + enough + to – inf

* Eg: - He is sick enough to need a doctor.

- The policeman ran fast enough to catch the thief.

- Nếu động từ theo sau diễn tả một sự việc được thực hiện bởi chủ ngữ khác với chủ ngữ của động từ đi trước thì ta dùng :

* Form: adj/ adv + enough + for + somebody + to – inf

* Eg: - The exercises are easy enough for you to do.

- He spoke English slowly enough for us to understand.

Form: 1.S + Be ( not) + Adj + Enough + To V + ’’.

2 S + Be ( not) + Adj + Enough + for S.O + To V + ’’.

Use: To express s.o to have enough a standard of ability to do something

Examples:

1 He is tall enough to be a good basketball player

2 Nam is not strong enough to carry this ladder

3 They are intelligent enough to tell lies to the police

4 We are not sociable enough to make friends in new school

5 The water is warm enough for me to drink

6 The floor is not clean enough for you to lie on

1 After begin, prefer, start, continue, love, like, hate we can use both gerund or To V

2 After remember, stop, try, forget we must concentrate the meanings

1 Remember + V-ing = remember sth that you did before ( nhớ điều gì đã làm) -> I

remember I have locked the door

Remember + to V = make a mental note to do sth in the future ( Nhớ làm điều gì nh một bổn phận hay trách nhiệm) -> I always remember to help you after school

2.Forget + gerund = forget sth that you did before (quên điều gì đã làm) -> He forgets sending me a gift

Forget + to V = forgot to do sth ( quên làm điều gì) -> He forgets to send me a letter

3 Reget + gerund + regret sth that you did before ( hối tiếc vì đã làm điều gì) -> I regret lending him some money

Regret + to V = to talk about unlucky thing or bad new ( nói với ai điều gì không may, hay thông báo tin xấu) -> We regret to inform you that your application isn't suitable

4 Try + gerund = do sth in order to solve a problem ( thử làm/ nếm thử một việc/ cái gì đó) -> She tries making a new dress for her doll

Try + to V = make an effort to do sth ( cố gắng để làm một việc gì đó) -> I always try to do

my homework well

5 Stop + gerund = stop sth that you was doing (bỏ làm một việc gì đó) -> My father

stopped smoking last year

Stop + to V = stop doing sth inorder to do sth ( dừng việc gì lại để làm một việc khác) -> They usually stop to watch TV
