2 Tính từ ngắn vần là tính từ có một âm tiết: tall, hot, old, young…
Lưu ý: Tuy nhiên, có 2 âm tiết nhưng tận cùng bằng y thì ta coi đó là tính từ ngắn: happy, noisy,
lazy, easy…
Có 2 vần nhưng tận cùng là ow, er, et, le thì ta coi đó là tính từ ngắn luôn
Ví dụ: narrow, clever, quiet, noble.

a So sánh hơn:
Tính từ ngắn: adj ngắn adj-er + than
Tính từ dài: adj dài more + adj dài + than
b So sánh hơn nhất:
Tính từ ngắn: adj ngắn the + adj-est

c So sánh ngang bằng: adj as adj as
