Các trạng từ thường xuyên đi với thì hiên tại đơn (Adv)

4- CÁCH THÊM “s” es” VÀO ĐỘNG TỪ HOẶC DANH TỪ
a - Hầu hết các danh từ số nhiều đều được thành lập bằng cách thêm –s vào danh từ
số ít
Ex: boy -boys, house - houses, dog -dogs, etc
b - Các danh từ tận cùng bằng s, sh, ch, x, z được tạo thành số nhiều bằng cách thêm–es
Ex: dish - dishes, church - churches, box - boxes, bus - buses, quiz - quizes, etc
c Riêng đối với các danh từ có tận cùng bằng –y thì ta chia ra làm hai trường hợp:
- Nếu trước –y là một phụ âm, ta bỏ -y thêm –ies vào danh từ: baby - babies, country -countries, etc
- Nếu trước –y là một nguyên âm, ta chỉ thêm –s vào danh từ: boy- boys, day - days, etc
d - Một số danh từ tận cùng bằng –f hoặc –fe như calf, half, knife, leaf, life, loaf, self, thief, wife, wolf được tạo thành số nhiều bằng cách bỏ đi –f hoặc –fe rồi thêm vào –ves
Ex: knife - knives, wolf -wolves, etc
- Các danh từ tận cùng bằng –f hoặc –fe còn lại thì ta thêm –s vào cuối danh từ để tạo thành hình thức số nhiều cho danh từ đó
Ex: roof - roofs, belief - beliefs, cliffs, etc
5-Cách phát âm đuôi s, es của danh từ số nhiều và động từ ở ngôi 3 số ít
- Phần lớn động từ khi chia ở thì này thì ta thêm-s ( với ngôi thứ 3 số ít )
ví dụ : find -> finds ; look > looks
- Những động từ kết thúc bằng- ss,-s,-ch,-sh,- x,-z ,- o thì khi chia ta thêm -es( ngôi thứ 3 số ít )
vd: changes/ iz/ ; practices/ iz/
buzzes/iz/ , recognizes /iz/
- Nếu từ kết thúc bằng-p,-k,- t,- f thì phát âm là /s/
cooks /s/ ; stops / s/
Lưu ý : ' laugh ' phiên âm là : [la: f ] nên khi chia : laughs đọc là /s/ - Những từ còn lại

4 CÁCH THÊM “-ING” VÀO ĐỘNG TỪ
a-Khi động từ tận cùng bằng một –e, ta phải bỏ -e trước khi thêm –ing
Ex: love - loving, write - write - writing, etc
Nhưng nếu động từ tận cùng bằng –ee, ta vẫn giữ nguyên chúng:
Ex: free -freeing, see -seeing, knee -kneeing
b - Khi động từ một vần tận cùng bằng một phụ âm (trừ h, w, x, y), đi trước là một nguyên âm, ta gấp đôi phụ âm trước khi thêm –ing
Ex: stop - stopping, run - running, etc
- Nhưng: Fix - fixing, play - playing (vì có x, y) ở cuối từ.

Work - working (đi trước bằng 2 phụ âm)
