I/ THÌ HIỆN TẠI ĐƠN( THE SIMPLE PRESENT TENSE)
1/ Công thức :
+ Đối với TOBE: Có 3 hình thức gồm: AM/IS/ARE
Quy định: I đi với am, he/she/it……is, you/we/they…… are
Viết tắt: is not…….isn’t / are not… aren’t / I am not…… I’m not
I’m /You’re/ They’re/We’re /He’s/She’s/It’s
Ex: He is a doctor
He isn’t a doctor.
Is he a doctor?( Yes, he is / No, he isn’t)
+ Đối với động từ thường:
- Trong câu phủ định và nghi vấn , ta phải mượn 2 trợ động từ DO/DOES Lưu ý
động từ chia sau do/ does phải đưa về dạng nguyên mẫu ( không còn S,ES cho dù
chủ ngữ là He/She/It)
- Quy định: DO đi với I/ You/We/ They
DOES ……….He/She /It
- Viết tắt: do not…… don’t/ does not… doesn’t
EX: They work hard everyday.
They don’t work hard everyday.
Do they work hard everyday?
• Yes, they do
• No, they don’t
2/ Cách dùng:
- Diễn tả 1 hành động thường xuyên xảy ra
EX: He goes to work everyday.
- Diễn tả 1 thói quen
EX: I usually get up early.
- Diễn tả nghề nghiệp
EX: We are students.
- Diễn tả 1 sự thật, 1 chân lý hiển nhiên
EX: The Earth turns around the Sun.
Two and two are four.
- Diển tả những hành động dự định làm ở tương lai.(lịch bóng đá, chiếu phim, tàu chạy…)
EX: The film starts at 7.30 tonight.
We leave Saigon at 8 a.m next Sunday and arrive at Thu Duc at 10.We
spend two hours there and leave again at noon…
3/ Dấu hiệu nhận biết:Trong câu thường có :
Trang 2- Always/ constantly, often/ frequently, usually, sometimes,occasionally, seldom, rarely, never…
- Every day( night, week, month, year, summer….)
- On+ các thứ trong tuần(On Mondays, On Saturdays….)
- Once a week/ month/ year…, twice a week/ month/ year…
4/ Cách thêm ES (đối với He/she/it)
- Thêm ES vào sau các động từ tận cùng là: O, SS, CH, X, SH,
EX: go…….goes, watch……watches, pass……passes, wash…….washes

2/ Cách dùng:
- Diễn tả 1 hành động đang xảy ra và kéo dài 1 thời gian ở hiện tại

- Dùng sau các câu đề nghị, mệnh lệnh
EX: Look! The child is crying
Be quiet! The baby is sleeping in the next room.
- Dùng để diễn tả 1 hành động có dự định sắp xảy ra ở tương lai gần Có trạng từ chỉ thời gian đi kèm như: tomorrow, next week/ month/ year…
EX: He is coming tomorrow.
My parents are planting trees tomorrow.
- Diễn tả 1 thói quen lặp đi lặp lại ( diễn tả sự phàn nàn ).Thường dùng với always, frequently, continually…
EX: He is always asking questions
She is always talking in class
They’re always making noise
• Lưu ý: Không dùng thì Hiện tại tiếp diễn với các động từ chỉ nhận thức, tri giác như;
Tobe, see, hear, understand, know, like, want, glance, feel, think, smell, love, hate, realize, seem, remember, forget….
Với các động từ này, ta thay bằng thì HIỆN TẠI ĐƠN
EX: I am tired now.
She wants to go for a walk at the moment.

3/ Dấu hiệu nhận biết: Trong câu thường có:
- now, right now, at present, at the moment
- Look!,… , Keep! , Listen! , Be quiet!
- Today, still, this evening, tonight…
4/ Cách thêm ING: Nếu động từ tận cùng là:
- e thì bỏ e rồi thêm ING: come……coming, live……living
- Y thì vẫn giữ nguyên thêm ING: play…… playing, study……studying
- ie thì đổi thành Y rồi thêm ING: lie……lying, die…… dying
- tận cùng là 1 phụ âm, trước nó là 1 nguyên âm, thì gấp đôi phụ âm cuối rồi thêm ING:
stop…….stopping, run… running, swim……swimming
- Nhưng nếu động từ tận cùng là 1 phụ âm, trước nó là 2 nguyên âm, thì giữ nguyên rồi thêm ING: meet….meeting, sleep……sleeping, eat…….eating
- Nếu động từ có 2 vần mà trọng âm rơi vào vần thứ hai , tận cùng là 1 phụ
âm thì gấp đôi phụ âm cuối rồi thêm ING: begin… beginning ,
prefer… preferred
