LESSON PLAN UNIT 8: NEW WAYS TO LEARN

Period 77: Speaking

I.Objectives

1 Knowledge:

- By the end of the lesson, students are able to:

+ Express their opinion about how electronic can help us learn

+ Give a report about how their classmates use the devices to learn school subjects

+ Perform their viewpoints to other people in real life

2 Skills:

- Practise presentation skill: talk about the most effective ways of using electronic devices

- Practise writing skill: Write how useful electronic devices are in learning

3 Attitudes:

- Students have positive attitude toward lesson

- Students are serious and willing to learn the lesson

- Students will gain more knowledge about the benefits of the electronic devices in learning

II Teaching methods

- Integrated, mainly communicative, Work in pairs, work in groups.

III Teaching aids: board, textbook, chalk, computer, projector, handout.

- Teacher Shows a video about electronic devices in modern life

- Teacher asks students to answer the questions

+ What devices can you see in the video ?

+ What are the advantages of devices ? + Do you think that electronic devices are important in learning ?

- Students see and answer the questions

II Pre-

*Activity 1: Look at some arguments

in favour of using electronic devices

in learning Match arguments 1-4 with explanations a-d

- T asks to read through the arguments

on using electronic devices in learning

- T Asks sts to work in pairs to match

arguments 1-4 with explanations a-d

in 2 minutes

- T Asks them to compare the answer

with a partner

- T Calls 4 sts to answer the questions

-Sts Work in pairs to do exercise

- Teacher asks students to read the

example on page 30

- After 3 minutes, teacher asks 2 pairs

of students to go to the board and speaking about the advantages of electronic devices

*Activity 4: Work in group and answer questions.

- Teacher asks students to work in group of four

- Then teacher shows the frequence of using personal electronic devices

- Students have to work in group in 3 minutes and then they present their presentation

- Teacher listens and gives feedback

time by listening to music, texting, chatting

or playing game on their smart phones

-Work in Group to do exercise

IV Consolidation (2m): Review main point in this lesson for students :
