2 Safety rules and precautions

This chapter describes the safety rules to be followed for the protection of on sitepersonal, as well of the equipment:

• general safety

• safety on site

• safety of people

• safety of equipment

Chapter 2: Safety rules and precautions

General safety

• Follow all the rules are applicable on site in accordance with local legislation

Safety on site

• The working area must be clean, clear of obstacles and marked out

• If needed, a temporary barrier of plastic chain and warning sign should be set up

to prevent access of unauthorized personnel

• Check that the earth connection is done and is effective (all ground cables havethe connection screws tightened)

• Make all the electrical connections before powering up the equipment

Installation rules This chapter describes the rules to be followed for cabling theDDF

Chapter 3: Installation rules

PCM cables

• PCM cables go into connection modules from the left of the module

• PCM cables must be connected to earth at both ends Two cases are possible:

- drain connection to earthing pin of connection module

- cable braid connection with tie wrap with metallic braid

Jumpers

• Jumpers go into connection modules from the right of the module

• The drain of jumpers must be connected at both ends

• The cables to be used for jumpering:

- for 120 ohm: L904 1 pair

- for 75 ohm: Flex3 1 coax

Function U shaped support for 24 connection modules and a label holder

Description The support is a 449 mm long Euro profile alu rack that allows the fixing of 24 high

connection modules and a label holder at 18 mm pitch It can be mounted on thealuminium rail of wall frame (screws and nuts supplied), on a flat smooth wall with kit(89581) 1AD 02844 0001, or in a 19” rack with kit (89583) 1AD 02845 0001

of measurement, disconnection, protection and easy modification of interconnections

Description These modules consist of an insulating body (blue) supporting 10 pairs of fork
