5 PCM Cables Installation
This chapter describes the procedure to :run the cables in the cable trayconnect cables at the rack sideThe connection to the site DDF is described in document :
“Installation method of DDF for BSS equipment”
Trang 305 PCM Cables Installation
5.1 Cable Installation in the Cable Way
Procedure 1 Install the cables in PCM compartment of cable tray.
2 Attach the cables with plastic tie wraps.
3 Mark cables with a marker.
4 Cut the cables at good lenght.
5 Mark the cable extremities.
5.2 Cable Routing at Back of Rack
Procedure 1 Tie the cables to the first half cable clamp using tie wraps (1 inPicture 1)
2 Run the inter-connection loom at the rear of the extension racks.
3 Tie the cables to the racks.
4 For compatibility with EDGE, the BSC can be delivered with IK 7 or IK 8
top structure In this case, 4 additional multipair cables can be fitted tostructure (seePicture 2)
Trang 315 PCM Cables Installation
5 If not the EDGE case compatibility, use the 4 left and 4 right cable pass cuts
for multipair cable, leaving the the 2 central cutouts free
Figure 16: Positioniong the Cables into the Clamps at Back of Racks Using Different Top Structures
5.3 Connecting to the Extension Racks
To avoid errors, it is necessary to work cable by cable.
Each cable is split in two branches (in Y) Each branch must be labeled. The following figure shows the principle of labeling for each cable split in Y andlabeled near connectors
Trang 325 PCM Cables Installation
Figure 17: Example of Rack A Labels Positionning
1 Connect all pairs of the first cable to the corresponding subracks (see
Table 1)
2 Pass the pairs in the black plastic clamps (seePicture.)

Trang 356 Power Cables Connecting
6 Power Cables Connecting
This chapter describes how to:
change power system from 3-wires to 2-wires (option)connect the rack to the existing power bus
Before making and electrical connection, ensure that the safety instructions areapplied (see General Wiring Handbook)
It is essential that :switches of new racks are OFFinstallers works with insulated toolsinstallers works with safety equipment (glasses, gloves )
Trang 366 Power Cables Connecting
6.1 Option: Case of 2-Wire Power System
The standard installation is 3-wire system where 0 volt and GND are separated(-48V / 0V / GND) If needed by customer (option), the rack must be changedfrom 3-wire to 2 wire system
Procedure 1 Remove cable SG/EG - EG TAB filter (3BK 07838 AN - 1 in Figure21)
2 Remove BATRET - BATRET EMA filter (3BK 07836 AN - 2 in Figure21)
3 Remove the filtered BATRET cable (3BK 07844 AP - 3 in Figures21and23)
4 Remove the two earth cables from the vertical frame work (3BK 07839 AR
- 4 in 21and23)
5 Swap the positions of the small cables on the TRU (211 27978 AA - 5
in23and24)
6 Add BATRET EG TAB filter (3BK 07 835 AN - E in Figure22)
7 Install the 17 earth braid jumpers (211 03875 AA):
