LESSON PLAN – ENGLISH 10 UNIT 8: NEW WAY TO LEARN

A – READING

I Aims and objectives

By the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:

- develop reading skills: guessing meaning in context, scanning for specific

information and make references when reading a text

- list some new helpful applications

- apply using some modern devices for their learning

Integrated, mainly communicative approach

I Warm – up (3 mins)

- Show pictures of some modern applications

and ask sts their names

- Ask sts some other questions:

+ How often do you use each application?

+ What is it used for?

- Introduce the lesson

II New lesson

1 Pre-reading (10 mins)

Activity 1:

- Let sts work in pairs, look at the pictures and

answer the questions:

1 What are student doing?

2 What do you think you are going to read

about?

- Look at the pictures and answer

- Answer the questions

- Work in pairs

2 While-reading(20 mins)

Activity 3:

-Ask sts to work in group of 5 Each member

will get a piece of paper consisting a part of the

text and they should read individually and then

work in group to give the correct order of the

text and choose the best title

Activity 4: Game: Lucky number

- Teacher devides class into 2 groups

- Teacher show 6 numbers: 1,2,3,4,5,6 on the

screen 5 numbers consist of 5 questions and

the other is a lucky number Each group takes

turn to choose a number and have 30 seconds to

answer the question If they give the correct

answer, they get 1 point The team choose the

lucky number will get 1 point without

answering the question The team getting the

higher score will be the winner
