4 Mock up Work
4.1 Internal wall plaster mock - up
4.2 External wall plaster mock -up
5 Preparation
5.1 Line marking
Mark check lines or recover check lines of Masonry work, 200
mm offset from brick wall lines or concrete columns & wall lines, groove lines
5.2 Level peg installation
Install 40x40 mm brick levvel pegs at interval of 1.80 m in two vertical & horizontal directions Level pegs shall be fix to substrate surface with cement past & cure for 24 hours 5.3 Substrate Surface Treatment
All hardened cement slurry on substrate surface to be removed &
cleaned
All form oil, grease, contaminat on concrete suface to be removed & cleaned
5.4 Applying spaterring dash to concrete
surface for bonding
Apply onto prepared concrete surface by striking cement mortar
of mixing ratio C:S=1:2 & cure for 3 days Thickness of applied dash is 5.0 mm Use brush to remove loose ones after 3 day curing Bonding agent if required to be mixed with cement mortar for dash
5.5 PVC plaster Beads & groove bar fixing
A3-10 PVC corner beads to be fixed by galvanized steel nails at the distance of 500 mm
PVC stop beads as shown on the shop dwgs
As approved MS, groove lines are to be cut after plastering or by groove bar installation before plastering
5.6 Galvanized steel mesh installation
Visual check, Measuring tape
200 mm strip of Galvanized steel mesh is required to install in plaster at junctions between brick walls & concrete elements ( columns, beams, walls)
Plaster of thickness thicker than 20mm, or plastered extends over different substrate materials, where a substrate is chased out to receive electrical conduits or water pipes Place equally over each side of material 100mm width
5.7 Substrate surface wetting Water spraying onto substrate surface to keep damp prior to plaster apllying Stand water on floor is not allowed.
5.8 Door & Window Frame Installation As approved MS, ensure frames of doors & windows stably fixed to wall openings in correct position
5.9 All chased/concealed pipes, cables,
electrical conduit… installed
Visual check, inspection records, hand over records
Ensure all embeded conduits, pipes…of M&E work already installed with inspection records & hand over records 5.10Tools & equipment for plaster work
Visual check, review
Ensure mixers, tools for platering are available at working areas 5.11Materials & Water supply, Power supply Ensure materilas prepared with enough quantities & volume for plastering, stand by power source, water supply source
5.12Access way, protection for floor &
adjacent items
Ensure access way granted and floor protection with plastic sheet
at mortar mixing area & platering area
Provide protection for marked check lines

6 Plastering
6.1 Sand sepraration Separate contaminant, organic matter, big size aggreagate, clay from sand for mortar mixing
6.2 Mixing method
• Put 2/3 to 3/4 of the water into the mixer
• Add the Masonry Cement to the batch
• Add the sand into the mixer, adding water as necessary to achieve the desired consistency
• Mix for at least 2 minutes in a mechanical paddle type mixer Add water to achieve desired consistency of mortar, less water for stiff mortar, more water for wet mortar
6.3 Mixed mortar Use clean containers and wheel barrows for contanining mixed mortar or water tight clean mortar bed with brick curb around.
6.4 Mortar mixing & Taking sample
Mixing ratio C/S =1/4 ( 1 bag of cements mixed with 8 buckets of 18L )
Taking samples for each 300m2 wall plaster applied 6.5 Use of mixed mortar
Pot life of mortar of 60 minutes, do not use mortar after mixing 60 minutes
Do not allow add more water to mortar for remixing
6.6 Mortar application for plaster
Visual check, 2m long alu
ruler, 30x60 cm
plastering
+Plaster thickness ≤ 15mm : 01 layer application Use 2m long alu ruler to spread mortar onto substrate surface &
timber floater for pressing to ensure the bonding & density of plaster Surface of plaster shoul be made flat with tmber floater +Plaster thickness > 15mm: 02 layer application
The 1st layer to be applied & cured for at least 3 days before the 2nd layer application During the 1st applied layer still fresh &
levelled, use steel notched trowel to make waving lines at the depth of 3mm for scratching
Wet the 1st layer before the 2nd layer applying
6.7 Extension above the ceiling lines Visual, Measuring
Tape,2m alu
At least 100mm extension from the ceiling lines for ceiling installation
6.8 Construction joint Construction joints shall be cut straightly and postion of C.J at outer wall corner
6.9 Squareness of wall corners
Visual,
Use square to make wall corner to get right angle during trowelling Tolerance for inner wall corner : +/- 2o 6.10Edge straightness Sharp-edged, Straight, tolerance following Table 1 TCVN 303-2006
6.11Water drip groove As per approved dwgs (Ex: soffits of balcony, sunshade, gutters…), tolerance following Table 1 TCVN 303-2006
6.12Slope as required location As per approved dwgs (Ex: window & door sill, top of parapet…),tolerance following Table 1 TCVN 303-2006
6.13Removal of level pegs
Visual check
All level pegs to be removed after surface levelling & patch up with mortar
plastering
7 day curing period required For 2 layer application, the 1st layer to be cured for 3 days before the 2nd layer application
6.15Protection for fresh plaster Protect external wall plaster from rain, sunlight by providing canvas sheets to cover
6 Final Check (after curing)
6.1 Plaster surface
Visual, Tape, Strainght-edge tape, Plumb, Set square
At completion before next works
Even, uniform texture, consistent, no stain and no contamninant by organic matters, homogeneous color
Spec., MS, TCVN 9377 : 2012
Adjustment /
