I'm going to talk about an advertisement for Coca-Cola, which is one of the biggest brands in the world I've seen Coke advertised everywhere, on posters and TV commercials

The advert shows a picture of Santa Claus smiling and holding a bottle of Coke I think the aim 1s

to target children and associate (link/connect) the brand with Christmas time

The advert is interesting because the company is deliberately trying to influence and attract children The marketers are trying to capture young customers They are presenting the drink as something special, a gift for Christmas However, Coca-Cola 1s not necessarily a healthy drink for children; 1t contains a lot of sugar Maybe this kind of advertise

Describe a tall building you like or dislike

I'm going to describe a modern building in Binh Duong It's called the Becamex Tower, and it's the second tallest building in the city, with about 50 floors

In fact, the bottom half of the tower is used for malls and entertainment and the top half 1s office for lease The offices are expensive because the location and views make them very desirable

I'm not sure if I like the design of the building, it's just a huge glass tower, but it definitely stands out It has become a famous landmark in the city You can see it as you approach Binh Duong, and it's an easy place to meet people because it's so distinctive and easy to find The most interesting thing about the Becamex Tower is that there is a bar on the 4" floor which has spectacular views of the city; it's definitely the best vantage point in Binh Duong because there are no walls, only huge

windows, so you can look out over the city in any direction I'd recommend anyone who visits Binh Duong to go there and experience the view

3 Describe a positive change that you made to your life

e I’m going to describe the first time I visited England’s capital city, London, on a school trip when I was a teenager I had never been to London before, and it was great to share that experience with

my school friends

e he positive experience wasn’t confined to one particular place in London As far as I remember, I enjoyed the whole trip, from the coach journey to the visits to various tourist attractions We got off the coach near the Houses of Parliament, and so one of my first memories was seeing the famous Big Ben clock tower We also visited the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace and Trafalgar Square

e As I said earlier, it was a school trip, and I think there were around thirty of us, including two teachers I was with a group of close friends, which made the experience more enjoyable

e What really struck me about London was that it was historic but modern and thriving at the same time It seemed to me to be a lively, fashionable and cosmopolitan place Coming from a relatively small town, the experience made me keen to visit more capital cities in the future

I’m going to tell you about a photograph of me and my sister It’s quite unusual in that I’m not very photogenic and it’s one of the few photos of me where I like the way I look

I can’t remember the exact date the photo was taken but it was quite some time ago now It was when we were on a big family holiday in the central park — perhaps 2 years ago We don’t often now go on holidays as a family together and that was almost the last time the whole family was there

I guess that Minh — my brother-in-law was the one behind the camera I say that because he’s brilliant at photography and any good photos we have are normally ones that he’s taken He’s got a great eye for it and of course he has all the right gear — special lenses and so on

It’s quite a simple photo It’s just my sister and myself in a boat on a lake — you can see the lake and shore in the background But the idea is that it’s just the two of us together — looking happy Part

of the reason it looks great I suppose is that it’s in black and white and that gives it a timeless quality The other thing is that he caught us unawares and neither of us was looking directly at the camera — so it’s not exactly a portrait I remember because it brings back great memories of a memorable holiday and as I said before I look good in it!

5 Describe a special meal you have had

Recently I ate buffet at Becamex Restaurant with my friends I had this meal about two weeks ago and we ate buffet in the evening time That was actually a get together short of party with my school friends whom I have not met for a long in person Over the phone we talked and planned to have a meal cum get together party together to discuss about us and to meet those friends in person We

picked the Becamex Restaurant because it is in a suitable location for all of us and we knew the food quality of this restaurant was good

We met at around 5 pm and we spent some good time together Lots of things have changes and some of our friends have done many challenging things and we all enjoyed the stories and updated

we gave each other

From the very beginning we planned to have met in a restaurant and not at home Usually arranging get together type party at a restaurant is easier and more convenient than arranging it at home No one feels shy or uneasy being at other's home and the host does not have to go through a big preparation The friends who came at this gathering also liked the environment and foods of Becamex Restaurant and that was the main reason we planned to have it

I'd like to talk about a team project that I was involved in during my final term at business school There were four of us on the team, and our task was to work with a local company to research a new market, in a European country, for one of their products or services Our objective was to produce

a report and give a presentation

The first thing we did was split into two groups of two We had been assigned a company that produced a range of bicycle accessories, so two of us spent some time getting to know the company while the other two researched the market and the competitors in the target country, which was Germany In the end, I think it was a successful project because we managed to identify a possible gap in the market in Germany for one of the company’s products Our group presentation also went really well

Until that point, the course had been all about business theory, so it was quite a learning experience

to work with a real company I felt a real sense of accomplishment when we handed in our report and delivered our presentation, and I think all of us were proud of what we had done

He became successful after many years of writing songs and performing live in small venues all over the country Gradually he built a following of people who liked his music I think the key to his success was one of his songs that was used on a TV advertisement This meant that

more people became aware of his music

I found out about because one of my friends got tickets to see him 1n concert I hadn’t heard any

of his music before, but I went along to the gig and really enjoyed it After that I bought the first

CD, and now I’ve got all of them

The reason I admire is that he has worked hard for his success: it takes years of practice to become a good singer and guitarist, and he spent several years playing to very small

audiences before he became successful I also like the fact that he writes his own music I admire people who have worked hard to get where they are

I watch a lot of movies and this is the thing which I do in my leisure time I love to watch movies and there some movies which I watch again and again My favorite movie is The Terminal

I have watched this movie a million times and I am not exaggerating it Tom Hanks plays a character of a person who comes to America to fulfill his father last wish and due to some reason

he is unable to do what he has to do

In the movie Tom hanks lands at the airport at the airport and at the same time there is a mutiny in his country and America stops recognizing his country The movie shows how a person survives all these months and fulfills the wish of his dead father There is scene in the movie when the authorities ask him to say that he 1s afraid of his country, but he refuses to do it

The movie shows that no matter what happens a person should never compromise on his or her love for the country The move also gives a message that no matter how long the wait is, people with strong determination always achieve their goals

10 Describe a gift you recently gave to someone

You should say

e Well I have given presents to many people for all kinds of reasons but I guess I'll talk about my best friend's last birthday present

e Last month was my best friend, Tina’s birthday and a few weeks before that she accidentally lost her iPhone 4S on the bus As a result she was quite upset - her parents were really angry as well and told her they wouldn’t buy her a new one Luckily for her I won the school singing

competition and the prize was a brand new black iPhone 5 I already had one so I gave it to her at her birthday party

e [still remember her face light up when she saw the iPhone box She actually thought I was playing

a joke on her and that I just gave her an empty box However when she saw the phone inside she seriously cried and hugged me so hard I wasn't able to breathe This was probably the priciest gift

I have given to anyone in my life but I believe it was worth it After all, you can't buy friendship

11 Talk about your favorite outdoor activity

e My favorite outdoor activity is visiting parks, fields, playgrounds and open spaces with my close friends I do it in one of the nearby parks, large play grounds, botanical gardens, besides a lake or river and 1n any similar natural open spaces

I really like to spend time with my friends as they are very close to me and they are very good friends

of mine I like their companionship as we have lots of common interests We learn things from each other and value our friendship Moreover, we stay inside rooms be it house, university, office or other places, and this activity lets us spend time close to nature and in healthy and open environment The open spaces give fresh air, eradicates our boredom and fatigue, and it is really refreshing to do some short of outdoor activities in the evening For all these reasons, I like this outdoor activity more than any other outdoor activity I have

I’m going to describe the “Sparrow” which is a wild bird that is common in the Vietnam The Sparrow is a small bird with brown and white feathers and an area of bright brown color on its face and on the front of its body The area of brown color and its size make Sparrow very easy to distinguish from other birds

Sparrow are common garden birds Many houses in the Vietnam have a garden, and you can often see this bird sitting in a tree They make their nests in trees and go looking for food You might also see a robin if you go for a walk in the countryside or in a park

Robins have a special place in Vietnamese culture They are considered to be spring birds, and are often used on spring festival’s cards Many people leave food in their gardens for Sparrow and other
