Critical Defect
Tightness of packages can
be checked by three
different procedures:
The package allows passage of red ink to the paper board, in
to any portion defective

►Two different solutions are used :
Dissolving solution – Acid (fast method)
1. Acid Solution
2. Neutralizing Solution
3. HNO3 30-33% (alternative method)
►Ingredients :
1. HCl (37% - starting solution as commercially available)
2. HNO33 (60-65% - starting solution as commercially available)( g y )
3. Distilled water
4. Na2CO3in crystals

Dissolving solution – Acid (very fast method)
1 ) Acid solution (Hydrochloric acid)
Prepare and acid solution of HCl 30% (e.g for 3
litres solution put 600 ml of water in a beaker and
add carefully 2400 ml of HCl 37%).
2) Neutralizing solution
Prepare 10 wt% Na2Co3in distilled water (e.g 100
g Na2Co3) and add water until the solution is 1 litre.
