Why? Because, before you can participate meaningfully in conversations in English, you need to understand the basics You cannot make food without any ingredients, can you? Well similarly, you cannot engage in conversation unless you:
a) know how to listen and understand what others are saying
b) have the grammar and sentence structure
to be able to respond
c) have the vocabulary you need for different situations
d) know how to put this all together in correct responses
