Period 26: Getting Started + Listen and Read

A Aims : - Get ss listen and read the dialogue.

- Help ss to understand the dialogue

B Objective: By the end of the lesson , ss will be able to tell about their school

report and subject

C Preparation: Pictures , posters, stereo, tape.

D Procedure :

I Check- up :

- Tell the usage of some prepositions of time and give examples

- Do the exercises 3,7 in workbook

II New lesson:

1.Getting started:

- T: "How often do you have English?"

- Ss: "Thee times a week."

- T asks Ss to work in pairs to ask and answer about their lesson schedule: Math, History

- Ss work in pairs : open pairs-closed pairs

-T checks some closed pairs

2.Listen and read:

a.New words:

+ (a) report card : phiếu điểm (visual)

+ (to) improve : cố gắng (translation)

+ (to) try one's best + to-infi: cố gắng hết sức

(example: I 'll try my best to learn English harder)

- T hangs the picture on the board and asks:

-T introduces: This is Miss Jackson, Tim's form teacher and Tim's Mom They are talking about Tim's report card and his learning at school

Now you are going to listen to a conversation between Tim and his mother Before listening, you guess if these statements are true or false

* Ss listen to the tape and check their prediction
