It is difficult to precisely specify the number of hours but
I often work six days a week Sometimes, I have to work
at night or during weekends Also, I regularly travel to different places to fetch equipment or pick up the cast and transport them to different locations Nowadays, I spend most of the time travelling from one place to another
A runner occupies a junior position in the industry I assist many members of the team such as the producer, director
or cast crew I consider this position as training and it gives
me the opportunity to gain experience in different areas of the industry
I usually get up very early because I have to be one of the first to arrive and prepare the equipment or make coffee and tea for the crew When there are shoots, I help the cameraman or even get the chance of using the camera
Fortunately, that happens very often! During lunchtime, I don’t usually have time to eat because I’m busy cleaning
or fetching tools or furniture But when I do have lunch,
I try to eat immediately after the staff because they later need my help; for instance, for some takes This job is sometimes very hard but I really enjoy what I do and learn
a lot!
It approximately takes from two to three years In this way, runners acquire experience through knowledge Besides, this period gives us the opportunity to highly develop skills
in many areas
It is very demanding and time-consuming because runners
