Trang 1RATIONALE FOR THE ASIGNMENT
Technology in education is not a new concept In the 1960s and 1970s, lessons were broadcast over the air; for language teaching, audio tapes and films were available and some universities had sophisticated language
laboratories where students could practice their spoken skills However, for the most part these technologies were not used in school and university classrooms
Today, the scenario is very different Technology is not “out there‟ but part of our daily lives in devices such as mobile phones, portable music
devices, TV, and computers, and activities such as sending SMS messages, listening to music files and audio books, watching cable TV, and surfing the Internet The drop in prices has brought technology within the reach of more people to the extent that it is cheaper for an institute to buy computers and software than to hire faculty Today’s students are comfortable using
technology and, if they are not, they are expected to become computer-literate for the workplace These changes have led to a push for incorporating
technology in educational settings in general and in English language
classroom in particular
This paper is the product of the application of information technology in designing lesson plan for an integrated English class, using the software ‘Hot potatoes’ Since the writer is only in the novice step of using this software, any errors or inconveniences in this assignment need to be excused

Trang 10Appendix THREE TIPS FOR HIGH FINANCIAL IQ
1 Spend less than you earn.
The key to wealth is to live below your means If you make 300,000 dollars a year and spend it all, you are not rich – you just have a lot of stuff A job loss or a serious illness could wipe you out in a few weeks Your neighbors who make 50,000 dollars and live on 40,000 dollars are much wealthier
Fortunately, with today’s technology, keeping a budget has never been easier Invest in financial planning software that allows you to add up your income and expenses and keep a record of your spending
2 Have a savings programs
Start saving early If you invest 50 dollars a week for 40 years and 9% interest, you will end up with 1,026,853 dollars People spend because they get
a good feeling from spending money You can get that same good feeling from putting your money away in savings
3 Pay off your credit cards
Trang 11Credits cards can be wonderful things You can treat yourself to a spa retreat
or a gourmet dinner without worrying whether you have the cash to pay for it The downside, of course, is that credit cards let many people live beyond their means So use credit cards, but pay the bill in full balance each month
