- Ask Ss some questions:

+ How many students are there in the picture?

+ Can you guess who is Ba?

B Pre- reading:

- Teach some new words:

a character: tính cách

an orphanage: trại trẻ mồ côi

reserved: rụt rè, nhút nhát

sociable: hòa đồng

(to) tell jokes: trêu đùa

sense of humor: óc hài ước

* Checking: What and where:

- Have Ss repeat the words in chorus

- Go on until all words are rubbed out

- Give T / F statements prediction:

1 Ba has only 3 friends

2 Ba and his friends have the same characters?

3 Bao, Song, Khai are quite reserved in public

C While - reading:

- Ask Ss to open their book and read the text on page 13

- Ask Ss to correct the false statements:

- Ask Ss to practice in pairs

- Call some pairs to give their answers

- Give the right answers:

D Post - reading:

- Ask all Ss to work in closed pairs

- Remind Ss the key points

- Ss summaries the text

5 Homework:

- Each student writes a paragraph about one close friend

- Prepare: Write
