* Vô thanh /p, t, k, f, , s, , t , hθ ∫ ∫ /

1 Quy tắc cơ bản của việc phát âm các từ tận cùng với “s”:

s’ được phát âm là /z/ khi theo sau các âm hữu thanh trừ 3 âm (z, ʒ,

/)

s’ được phát âm là /s/ khi đi sau các âm vô thanh trừ 3 âm (s, ,t )∫ ∫

s’ được phát âm là / iz/ khi đi sau các âm (z, ʒ, ʤ , s, ,t )∫ ∫

2 Quy tắc cơ bản của việc phát âm các từ tận cùng với “ed”:

- Động từ tận cùng ed được phát âm là /d/ khi theo sau các âm hữu thanh trừ âm (d)

- Động từ tận cùng bằng ed được phát âm là /t/ khi theo sau các âm

vô thanh trừ âm (t)
